Houshmandzadeh Signs with ravens cuz of Hue Jackson

It may have been inadvertant, but the glowing endorsement of quarterback Joe Flacco by Raiders offensive coordinator Hue Jackson played into the decision of wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh to sign with the Ravens.

“I don’t know if you all know, but me and Hue Jackson have a real good relationship, and Hue used to brag about the guy all the time. Brag about how good of a quarterback he was and his demeanor and his personality, and that’s why I was a little late,” Houshmandzadeh told reporters in Baltimore according to the Baltimore Sun after meeting with Flacco. “We were in there talking a little bit. It always helps when you’ve got a guy that can put the ball where it needs to be.”

Jackson was Flacco’s quarterbacks coach with the Ravens.

The Sun reported Houshmandzadeh chose the Ravens over the Raiders.

too bad this morning on espn they said the deciding factor was ray lewis and that ray was relentless in getting him to sign. Who knows? Over it. Move on with what we have.

Hue?? I`m guessing if Hue wanted him badly, he would have been bugging Al big time to sign him........If Hue said, "Nope, we don`t need him" for other reasons......then fine....

Yeah if Al wanted him here we'd have a receiver with a shiny new $50 million contract. It's probably worth noting he won't contribute anything to his new team for something like a month or two by which time we'd have Schilens back on the field (hopefully), so whatever. It would have been nice as an insurance policy in case Schilens never gets it together but Campbell will have to make do with what he has.
