Matt Maiocco, of the Santa Rosa Press Democrat, reports free-agent OT Barry Sims (Raiders) has decided to sign a two-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers, according to his agent, Ken Vierra. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. "What maybe tips it a little bit is the money is a little bit better and you don't have to move to play here," Vierra said. "All I can tell you is he had a good feel in San Francisco." The team made no promises to Sims, other than he will be allowed to compete for playing time at right tackle against OT Jonas Jennings.
