The Browns have made contract offers to quarterback Derek Anderson and running back Jamal Lewis, key players they hope to keep off the free-agent market. A team spokesman confirmed proposals were sent to the representative for both players, but he could not provide details about the length or value of the deals.

So, they intended to sign him to what may amount to a lucrative long term deal?

That would mean then you would have a LOT of money tied up in TWO QB’s and the last time I checked only ONE can play at a time. Hmmm…

IF this comes to fruition it has all appearances of a BIG time QB controversy.

man .. what a waste the Brady Quinn pick would be, if Anderson has a consistent season next year .. and the year after that .. and the year after that ..

similar to what happened over at the Chargers with Rivers and Drew Brees, the difference being, Brees has starting experience, Anderson didn't .. anyway, I'm rooting for Anderson to stay and the Browns *maybe* looking to trade off Quinn
