    Euro 2012

One hour until the semis match...

Euro 2012: Ronaldo cements his star status | Live football and soccer news | ESPNFC.com

I'm picking Spain over Ronaldo even though I picked up the latter's jersey during a Real Madrid game earlier this year. Spain is just too strong.

    Portugal 2-3 Spain.

    Any takers?

I'm glad Spain won. Can't stand Reinaldo. I think he's an arrogant prick.

You talking about the Real Madrid player? Aside from being one of the top two players in the whole world (arguably), his name is Ronaldo. He's probably earned the right to be a prick, though some of us would disagree with the characterization.

That was spell check on my phone and wasn't to sure if that was the way his name is spelled. Personally I like Messi.

Hahahah. There's this huge divide, even more than in NFL fans. You either love Ronaldo or you love Messi. I wonder what would happen if they were ever on the same team.

I was wearing my Ronaldo jersey IN MADRID and this bartender (jokingly but just barely jokingly) was giving me a ton of crap about how Messi and Barca were the team I should be supporting. Went on for days literally (one of our regular stops on Plaza de Santa Ana).

So who is with me with Italy today? Germany hasnt been able to beat Italy in ages. I think we have a good chance of beating them again today.

I'm rooting for Italy but I'm not sure it will happen.

I think an Italy/Spain final would be fantastic. Last two World Cup winners and all that, plus the draw in the opening round...

I think Italy will won the Euro. Italy plays with a new unique formation "3-5-2 Napoli-style" with many Juventus players... I ve always liked Italy, their attitude, their great players (like Roberto Baggio) and their defensive approach of the game. Their disadvantage is their strikers. Cassano is a below average player and Balotelli is a circus (did you see the picture with the corner flags?). Di Natale is a great player but he is 35 years old. Lets hope that Di Natele will play...

Germany is the most organised team. Many scouts who travveling across the country to find the best young players in order to develop them, many scientists who helping the team. It has many good players in all positions, in every formation + a good coach. In my opinion, Germany lacks the passion of the game (like South has). Thats why i dont like Germany...

Spain is the most boring team of the tournament. What the #@% Spain plays? 4-6-0? Pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass, 120 minutes, penalties...
It isnt the same superteam like 2008 (Spain misses M. Senna). It plays something like Barcelona-style without Messi.

    PS. Players to watch:
Italy: Gigi Buffon, Andrea Pirlo, Daniele De Rossi
    Germany: Mesut Özil
    Spain: Andrés Iniesta

German looks completely out of sorts. I was expecting better play on the pitch.... No matter, I am expecting Spain to take it all.

    Final: Italy-Spain

The last time that Spain won Italy (in 90/120 minutes) was at the Olympic games* in Belgium (1920).
(The football tournament in Olympics was like the World cup before world war 2. I dont include friendly matches)

Am I the only one thinking that Spain can pull something off in the final? I'll go out on a limb and say the final score will be 2-1 Spain. Viva España!!
