    CAL .VS. Maryland

Any CAL fans here? The game is about to start. Jahvid Best will begin the road to the Heisman. We got some big expectations this year, hopefully we can meet them.

Holy sh!t, Cal is KILLING Maryland! It's like 38 to 6 now. Payback!

Also, Riley looks waaaay better than Longshore. He seems to have really come into his own.

    Yeah we murdered Maryland.

Riley is looking good. If he can consistently make throws like he did last night, we are winning the Pac-10.

Yeah that was quite an impressive showing. They played about as complete a game as I could hope for. Best was amazing in his limited touches. The offensive line got a good push all night and gave Riley plenty of time. I honestly believe Marvin Jones can catch ANYTHING. This guy looks like a superstar in the making. Vereen had a workman-like day both running and catching the ball. And the super freshman Sofele even got in the act last night. I can't wait to see more of him.

On defense, I believe they had 6 sacks in the first half. The LBs, which featured a large rotation as expected, played great. Mohamed and Holt had very solid games. And then it looks like both Devin Bishop and JC transfer Jarred Price will emerge as pash rushing specialists.

Two other surprises from last night in defense featured young backups in redshirt freshman Josh Hill and Sophmore DE Ernest Owusu. Both had HUGE games. Hill seemed to always be in the mix and gives this secondary even more depth. Owusu looked great rushing the QB and I believe had two sacks. He provides a relief in the fact that we know there a bit of depth now behind the big three starting D-linemen. I think he may also push Cameron Jordan for playing time which will hopefully keep Jordan going at 100% rather than taking the occasional down off.

The only real issue I saw was on kickoffs. Can we please go check out the Cal soccer team or something? Why can't we find someone that can kick the ball off? Georgio was terrible and then it got even more comical when Seawright went in. We can't give up field position like that to the better teams. Other than that, Cal played a very complete game. Most areas looked very sharp.
