So the event was supposed to be October 11th and is now set for January. There is no official date. There is a rumored major announcement to further explain why the date was moved.

Affliction just teamed up with Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions. They will mix boxing and MMA together.

I think Affliction did this for survival purposes, I'm not sure how I feel about watching a mixed boxing/MMA card.

I'm pretty sure it was for survival purposes. I don't like this at all. I don't think it will work either. Boxing does not have its draw anymore. People who usually buy PPV MMA will not want to pay and watch what may be half-boxing. I am sure it will be the same for boxing fans but to a lesser extent.

It's gonna be a good fight. I think Arlovski is going to give Fedor a good run for a little while, but I'm predicting Fedor by submission.

Should be a great card, some good fights are scheduled. I think the joint with Golden Boy is to survive, look at EliteXC. I actually think this might work for them. Since Golden Boy productions does put on good fights. And it's also a chance to gain more MMA fans, there are still tons of people that prefer boxing over MMA.
