will be broadcast from England on tape delay on Spike TV at 9:00 eastern time. To my knowledge the decision was made yesterday to change this event from a PPV to a television broadcast.

Speculation has already begun. It has been speculated that the change is due to the Affliction 2 event on PPV which is scheduled for the Saturday before which will have the Affliction debut of former UFC star Tito Ortiz. Perhaps they feel people will save their money and watch the free event the following week. It is also being speculated that not only will UFC 89 be on Spike but it will be moved up one week to compete directly with the Affliction event. Or, the UFC will put on a Fight Night on the same night of the Affliction event.

Politics of MMA. Let's hope it doesn't turn into boxing.

also would be hard to get people to pay for a ppv that has Bisping vs Leben as the main event.. Makes sense to me since they will be having a ppv event the next week in Chicago.. with Anderson Silva defending his title against Cote.
