Most Memorable Playoff moment

Ok folks,

Do you have a favorite memorable playoff moment in Raider football? What play or set of plays or just plain moment, thrill or pain do you recall the best.

Granted, there have not been a lot of them in the past 20 years and certainly no super bowl appearances. However, I think this year will be the one we have been waiting for in a long time and to cap this one off, lets share some of those thrilling moments.

For those whose memories may need a jog;

Great moments:

Sea of hands - 74 playoff game against the Dolphins won in the last seconds by Stabler. Wow, what a game that was and that is my personal favorite. Coincidently, the next day, my wife gave birth to my first son and I spent the morning reading the paper which was a Bay Area paper and full of articles (I was stationed at Ford Ord in Monterrey, Ca).

Ghost to the post - 77 playoff game that went 6 quarters! Had the Raiders not lost to the Broncos the following week for the AFC Championship, this might have been remembered as one of the best games of all time. It was. The Raiders and Colts battled for 6 quarters which was the second longest game ever played. It ended in the second overtime with Stabler hitting Casper for a 38 - 31 win. Late in the 4th quarter with time running out, it was Stabler''s long ball to Casper who made an over the shoulder catch that put them in position for the tie. Magnificent and on the road in old War Memorial Staidum which was nothing but dirt (frozen).

Super Bowl XI - Any play. What a win over the Vikes! That 76 game was not just for the season, it was for the teams that lost from 68-75.

Nightmare moments:

Too many to think about and I'm almost out of Zantac. How about last year's Snow job, ahhhhhhhhhhh! And, just as agonizing, Franco Harris and the immaculate deception.

You know what has been reall cool has been Madden on Monday night when he talked about the game with Michaels. He said, ya know what burns me about that game is after he crossed the goal line, the referees didn't call anything. They didn't know what to call. They can't do that, then and now. The play happens, you make the call. Only this time, they make no call and the head referee gets on the phone. Who the heck is he talking to and what are they saying? There is no instant replay, you can't look at it again! About 10 minutes later (it felt like days) they make the call. Excuse me, I think I might have to throw up.
