Everyone wants to be that cinderella team but that isn't likely.

Why can't people just be realistic and settle for steady improvement? 6 wins would be a decent start considering we haven't won that many in any of the last 5 years. 7 wins would be a successful season in my eyes.

These players we have that people consider superstars like Thomas Howard, Justin Fargas, and Tommy Kelly are abundant on other teams. They are just good players. Unfortuneately, our perception has been blurred by all the losing. Either that or some people are just ignorant.

I can make a list for every other team in the league why they will be successful this year and make a playoff or superbowl run. That doesn't mean it will happen. There are only 12 playoff teams per year. 10 teams per conference wont make it. Sadly, we will most likely be one team that misses out, but if we show some improvement this year maybe we can make a run in 2009. Jmho.
Because they want to believe what they write that's why... I continue to read comments that everyone gets it, we all know what's wrong with this team etc. yet we see these threads as though they know with 100% assurance that this team is playoff bound is going to win the AFC etc. Then to top it off, we aren't allowed to have the opinion we do, because it doesn't jive with the OP thread.

I agree with you I prefer to see steady growth and improvement and take it one week at time, some live in a fantasy world then when it doesn't happen their enthusiasm is gone and they almost seem suicidal.

I've watched too many football games and have followed this team way to long to start preaching from the mountain tops about how they are going to light the league on fire. Just like I don't believe the hype from the media that the Raiders will be also rans... let's play some games first before we make either evaluation.

He said to me many times through the years that owners are often the problem with their franchises, that too many of them think they can run things when they cannot, and the teams that succeed are the ones where the owner hires the best people he can and turns the game over to them."
