I think he was taken for two primary reasons: he will be an asset on Special Teams, where we sucked last year (same with Tyron on this point-especially after losing Carr) and as a situational pass rusher ala Clemmons. Like it or not, the front office thinks a rotation of Sands, Kelly, Warren and Joseph will work for us in 2008. I still don't think Al is finished with the DL, however. I think he'll lie in the weeds and watch for some DE near the end of his career to get cut so he can get him cheap until next year's draft. Baby steps, Nation, baby steps. We've surrounded Russell with a lot of weapons and have the foundation for a great team for years to come.
