One of the major reasons for our rushing success last year was Oren O'Neal's blocking.

Griffith is decent, but not the hammerhead you require. But, thats now irrelevant. Both are gone for the last nine games.

Where does that leave us?
With Luke Lawton.

A smart OC should be scheming around our issues.


My solution - sure to be hated by half the posters on this site...
Play more single back formations.
Fargas is capable of blocking for the pass or running for a few yards an attempt.
Miller and Fargas are kept in to pass block at times, sending three out into the pattern.
Plus, let Miller play a lot of block and release.
Finally, for the next couple of weeks rest McFadden.

Remember the Redskins offenses of the eighties?
Three WRs, a blocking TE and a big FB running the ball?

Thats my blueprint for the next few games.
Short-term.

Then after letting McFadden sit for a few games, go to more twin TE formations with McFadden running the ball. Have Russell play an amount of passes to Miller on block and release routes.

Just mix it up.
Try different things.
See what works for next year.

LOL. Why not he could at least be our backup until he gets into playing shape.

This should enable us to use McFadden how we should be using him. Single Back formation. The guy can run out of this formation if he is given the opportunity to do so. Let's see if adjustments are made or if we continue to run the ball against another good rush defense like we're running into the wall.

just a thought, how do you know they are not???

and i do agree, with being able to put fargas on as a block rb...
he is willing to put in his body for the team, i am sure of it..
and two rb's in the same play can be preety usefull in the name of trickery...

Grab Marcel Reece off the practice squad. Man, our O-Line sucks and now we have no Full Backs to help max protect with the Tight Ends. Zach Miller is not going to catch another pass the rest of the season cause he will be back blocking on every play!! FUDGE!!!! FUDGE!! FUDGE!!!
