If we move our best cover guy to safety we will be the dumbest team in America.

You can get way more people to play safety but to have a shutdown corner wasted on safety would be beyond stupid imo. if anything we drafted a safety let branch play that spot he is a great player and in time will be one of our best defenders. Branch and Gibril and move huff to db don't give up on him just yet we need to build the kids confidence it seems to be in the gutter at this point.

Hmm I dont really want to Aso to move to FS. I understand that it could help to make plays but he pretty much shuts off his side of the field. Even tho thats not getting the ball back that is very good and hard to find.

If we put another CB out there it gives them a chance to throw that way and as well and they can still find ways to keep the ball away from Aso. I would just prefer to leave him at CB and try something else out S.

I would like to see Branch get more chances at FS. He has some skills although Im not ready to call him great I dont see how it could hurt to give him a shot. See what he can do and if he has a chance to be our starter.

The irony of all of these hypothesis is:

If we decide to continue Rob Ryan's "Wait and see" approach to defense,
it won't matter who's playing where, because we still won't be pressuring the quarterback.

Maybe if we blitzed consistently, we could consistently make plays on the ball because there would be more errant throws by opposing quarterbacks looking to get rid of it.

Since we seemingly can't get to the quarterback regularly, it would make any Secondary package we come up with moot.

With 5 or 6 seconds to get open, our receivers could make a play every other down too.

That said, I think Hall plays way too far off the line of scrimmage regardless of what package we're running.
