This is the kind of stuff that kills me.
Al gets a ton of criticism for the way he's run the franchise for the past decade or so, and he deserves it. Yet nobody gives him an ounce of credit when something good happens.
When a bad personnel decision is made, it's 100 percent Al's fault because Al controls everything.
But on those rare occasions when a good decision is made, it's because someone else made the decision.
    Huh?
Either Al is 100 percent responsible or he isn't. Try as you might, you can't have it both ways. The fact of the matter is Rich Gannon never would have been a Raider unless Al Davis wanted him to be a Raider. And that's a fact because the Raiders don't sign players Al Davis doesn't want.

Seriously, dude, give it a rest. You spam the forums everyday 40 new posts about how after 6 games your convinced Russell is a bust.

OK, WE GET IT, YOU THINK HE IS A BUST!!

But until Davis says otherwise, he is the starting quarterback. So give it a rest already.
I love how people turn to personal attacks because they can't construct a counter argument. The topic of the thread was based on the notion that Russell has accuracy issues. I'm arguing that he does, and it's to the magnitude that it can be crippling.

I never suggested that Russell should be cut and that he's a bust NOW. I'm saying if his mechanics remain consistent, he will be. Russell has the makings of an elite QB, but that won't mean anything when it's all said and done. I'll admit he has more talent than flaws, however, the flaws in his game that he does have are CRITICAL ones. This isn't something he can just get rid of by playing more (obviously), and our coaches will never be good enough to pull him to the side and teach him what he needs to know to overcome this. I believe Russell has to have a conscience, Gannon-like work ethic to make this work in the end. I don't think he has that, adds water to my feeling that he won't pan out.

Of course if he doesn't get better he's going to be a bust.

I'm saying I don't think he's going get better, which makes him a bust.

first off, make up your freakin mind. its kinda stupid to go back and forth with no real reason or rhyme. whats the freaking point. you think he's a bust if not today then tomorrow. fine got it and in two to three years if your still on the board bring up and prove to everyone you were right.

second off, your hella silly to think after six games he's a bust. id doesn't matter cuz im happy we have him and i'll be patient and watch Russell grow into a good to great QB. i ain't talk trash about a young QB on my team until one of two things have happened.....he's been disrespectful to the fans and to the game of football or he's had enough time to be evaluated.

It has nothing to do with the games and everything to do with his intangibles.

But before it was all his mechanics and footwork and vision, which is what you've said in various threads, once on this page. Can you give a definitive last effort that confirms your position on Russell so that we can all bookmark this page to have a good laugh at in the not too distant future?

I do. Despite the fact that I think he's hurting this franchise. I still think he has very good judgement of people he doesn't know personally. I don't think our drafts have been too bad recently, and we've balanced out the positions we've drafted fairly sensibly post-SB, whether the picks have worked out well or not.

The obvious reason people don't bother to give him credit is that he has a way of shooting himself in the foot that renders it redundant anyway. I think you'd see quite different opinions of Al if/when we start winning again.
