Nah, people twisting and toiling in the wind have done it to themselves by jumping on all these rumors, believe the un-named sources(while calling the people dispelling the rumors liars) and basically building this stuff up even more. If I were to sit back and watch someone keep jerking their own chain I wouldn't step in either, I would let them learn their own lesson.

You have to take into account that Ryan and Kiffin both have been denying these rumors for a couple of months now, but when they do it people on this board say they are lying. what point and what good would it do anyway for Al to come out and say this stuff I can already tell you what the folks who seem to want this stuff to be happening would say.

That would be the quickest way to quiet the rumors, and it would take 5 seconds to do. No press conference needed, no dog & pony show. Just a direct statement from the Man himself, not a paid mouthpiece.

I'm not even asking for a guarantee beyond next season.

Why would Davis/ Kiffin or anyone else in the Raiders organization do that? The only people who care about any of the rumours are the fans and the media. The Raiders organization has never cared about any rumours that have been said and the most you will ever get out of them is that the rumours are false regardless of whether they are really false or not. When its over its over and you might get a statment out of Davis or someone else depending on what the outcome is but until then nothing needs to be said outside of the Raider headquarters.
