Angry Lincoln Kennedy on the Jim Rome Show

Lincoln Kennedy was one of my favorite Raiders O-linemen and he was interviewed on Rome's show on ESPN radio today. Rome also talked about the Raiders after Kennedy was gone, and here's what got to me. Kennedy has his own show and he said he's never had so many Raider fans say they will not support the team any more until Al Davis is gone. As I said in the poll thread about this on this site, I believe this mess with Kiffin is the straw that broke the camel's back for a lot of us fans. Al is showing in no uncertain terms that he doesn't give a damn about us or the team. It's all about him and his 1/32nd of the revenue sharing plan in the NFL. He makes millions while us blue-collar types can't even afford to go to a &*$%(#$% game! In today's NFL you have to have a very smart and professional coach, a strong GM and a great staff to build a winner. Al thinks he can do it all himself, with hand puppets carrying out his wishes. It's why we've sucked for so many years. The Gruden years were a blip on the radar and they won't be back. Nobody will want to be a part of this medieval torture chamber.

Al Davis is the Michael Jackson of the NFL, once a great legend, now someone you look at and shake your head. Its a shame.

Al is showing in no uncertain terms that he doesn't give a damn about us or the team.
This is a ridiculous statement. Even if you dont like Al Davis, there is NO ONE that wants the Raiders to win more than Al Davis. Jim Otto once said last year that the losing greatly affects Mr. Davis health. He signs superstars, spends money, and does whatever he thinks was right.

His decisions you can question which I GREATLY do; since Ron Wolf left the Raiders drafts are awful. But NEVER question his dedication to the Raiders winning.

To the fans, thats how it's always been. fans of today haven't a clue to what the tradition was. Sports Illustrated had a poll among players and coaches and the Oakland Coliseum was voted the hardest place to play in the NFL and it wasnt' that close. Even with such success and loyalty they moved to L.A., and other than a few years, they've never recovered.

NEW THREAD IS... IF Dallas is offering up BArber and both their picks and if the dolphins are very interested maybe we should jump in and give them our pick, they could very well land McFadden, we get a solid RB and more draft picks. WHat yall think???

Al wants the Raiders to win more then we anyone in the world... trust me.

His problem is he is old... Old is synonomous with irrationally stubborn. It's also synonomous with "Losing a step"...

Al has become an Irrationally stubborn man, who has lost a whole lot of Steps and is his own worst enemy despite his heart wanting the Raiders to win.

He's always been stubborn, now that he's old, he may just be the most stubborn person on this planet.

In today's NFL you need four elements to build a SB contender: Owner, GM, HC and QB. Everybody knows this. We're not living in 1967. NFL football is not about just lining up and butting heads anymore. Both offenses and defences are very complicated. Front offices, the draft, free agency, salary cap, etc. make it crucial that you build a team of smart people to run your organization and your team. The Raiders have Al Davis. Compare that with what they are doing in New England, Dallas, Green Bay, Indy, etc. If Al really cares about winning more than his 1/32nd of the revenue stream, then he needs to hire good people and let them do their damn job, not micromanage them to death and run them out of town.

I heard him talk about the Raiders on FSR today and he has said the same things that have been said here, Al wants to win now and he is impatient and he will never give a coach the latitude to fire anyone without his blessing. Then no play Ray said what amazed him about Al was that he knew everything there was to know about him before he came to play for us and that Al was real in tune with the players. But what disturbed him was his lack of commitment to coaching staffs and basically said the same thing I've said and others, without continuity we won’t succeed.
