    A Husky worth watching?

    Here's a sleeper for you:

    Dan Orlovsky
    UCONN Huskies, Junior QB

    Age: 20
    Height: 6-5
    Weight: 229 lbs.
    Hometown: Shelton, CT.

    2003

    Att: 475
    Comp: 279
    Yards: 3,485
    Comp %: 58.7
    TD: 33
    INT: 14
    Sacked: 9

    ---------------------------------------------------

I do not believe he will be entering the draft this year, but I was able to watch this kid during six games this year since I live in CT. He has great size, and a powerful arm. He can scramble to avoid the rush pretty good (9 sacks in 475 pass attempts), but he won't run on you much for big yards - he's a passing QB for sure.

He is a very good leader, it's his team no doubt and he reads a defense very well. His accuracy isn't bad at all, but he tries to force plays too often and isn't afraid to take a shot downfield so he is prone to mistakes.

Next year, he will most likely be a middle to late round pick or possibly a street free agent - its not like UCONN football is known for producing NFL players and the competition wasn't exactly Miami or USC. He also didn't get to throw to a Roy Williams or a Larry Fitzgerald either.

UCONN just started playing in Div 1-A in 2000. They started the year off well, but really picked up steam finishing with 5 straight wins. The Huskies scored over 30 points in 9 of their 12 games behind Orlovsky.

He could be a real diamond in the rough someday.

    UCONN 2003 OPPONENTS

    Indiana - 34-10 W
    Army, - 48-21 W
    Boston College - 24-14 L
    Buffalo - 38-7 W
    Virginia Tech - 47-13 L
    Lehigh - 35-17 W
    NC State - 31-24 L
    Kent St - 34-31 W
    Akron - 38-37 W
    W. Michigan - 41-27 W
    Rutgers - 38-31 W
    Wake Forest - 51-17 W

This is blood for blood and by the gallons. These are the old days man, the bad days, the all-or-nothing days. They're back! There's no choices left. And I'm ready for war.

Lions | Orlovsky to battle McCown for No. 2 QB
    Fri, 19 May 2006 22:56:40 -0700

Tom Kowalski, writing for the Sporting News, reports Detroit Lions QB Dan Orlovsky is expected to put up a strong competition with QB Josh McCown for the backup job, assuming QB Jon Kitna wins the starting job as expected. Orlovsky has a strong arm, and offensive coordinator Mike Martz likes his gunslinger attitude. He's still very raw, but he's expected to progress quickly during the offseason workouts and training camp.
    and on Yahoo! News:

    Yahoo news -

Speaking of Martz, the scuttlebutt in scouting circles is that the quarterback that has caught his eye this
offseason isn't Jon Kitna or Josh McCown. Instead, Martz has been telling friends he's been very impressed with 2005 fifth-round pick Dan Orlovsky. Martz apparently believes that Orlovsky has the tools, intangibles and leadership to be successful – but also thinks he can't be trusted to consistently make the right reads at this stage in his career. Kitna may enter 2006 as Detroit's starter, but keep an eye on Orlovsky as the future No. 1.
    ------------------------

I still wish we had taken a flier on Orlovsky. BUT, I started thinking about Andrew Walter. I really feel that he should be starting before the year is out unless Brooks has us in Super Bowl contention. We can't pull another Tui and find out 5 years later he isn't going to be the guy. We need to know soon and we need to put our faith in him if the Raiders believe he's the guy.

Dan O. is nasty. I went to Uconn the same time he did and went to see all the games, even flew out to Detroit for their first bowl game. He would have put up better numbers in college if he had good receivers; he would have been a 1st or 2nd round pick if he played anywhere else. Good to see that he’s impressing martz.

Are you serious?! Thank god someone has noticed him. I am a lions fan, second only to the ultimate raiders fan of course, because i was born in Detroit. Naturally i am a die hard raiders fan, but i also have a spot in my heart for the lions. Naturally, i observed them throughout my whole life. I definitely like Dan orvlovsky. I've seen him play in pre season and i saw him play one game last season on Thanksgiving day. he plays very smart football and has a very good style and understanding of the game from what i've seen of him. with martz at the helm of the Offense, it could be serious.

Necromancy is the act of conjuring the dead for divination. It dates back to Persia, Greece and Rome, and in the Middle Ages was widely practiced by magicians, sorcerers, and witches. It was condemned by the Catholic Church as "the agency of evil spirits," and in Elizabethan England was outlawed by the Witchcraft Act of 1604.

Necromancy is not to be confused with conjuring devils or demons for help. Necromancy is the seeking of the spirits of the dead. The spirits are sought because they, being without physical bodies, are no longer limited by the earthly plane. Therefore, it is thought these spirits have access to information of the past and future which is not available to the living. It has been used to help find sunken or buried treasure, and whether or not a person was murdered or died from other causes.

The practice of necromancy has been compared by some to modern mediumistic or practiced spiritualism. Many consider it a dangerous and repugnant practice. Dangerous because it is alleged that when some spirits take control of the medium they are reluctant to release their control for some time.

Necromancy is not practiced in Neo-pagan Witchcraft, but it is practiced in Voodoo.
