    Fabian and Asomugha AMAZING!!!

These two guys are playing like they've been in the league for 6 years. Both have been just incredible for us completely locking down the WR's. I think this is great because now when CWood is gone, we won't need to pick up a replacement. Even Hill is doing a pretty good job at nickel. Kelly, Burgess, and Sapp are just incredible at causing pressure on the CB. Personally, I even like the job Jasper has done at the DT position. In a few years we will have an incredible team. I think all we need is some Oline help, solid olb, solid ss. When this is completed then we will be the champs.

I wouldn't label them amazing just yet but I now what your saying. They've been playing some good football the last couple of weeks and Nnamdi has been a steady performer.

However, both must do a better job getting off blocks on those stretch and edge plays. Too many times they are just standing there not trying to free themselves. Fabian made a rookie mistake that could've cost us yesterday when Kennison made that sideline catch. Yes, the review showed he was touched but FYI......play to the whistle! At least we had someone backing Fabian up on that play.

Hamilton, Washington, Asomugha, Washington, Jasper, Sapp, Kelly, Burgess, Clark, Morrison make me wonder why we're 3-5

It's not a question of talent. We have some good football players. I think it's the execution of the players. Breakdowns & Mistakes continue to plague this team.

Because you list no safties and OLB's. We need all 11 to be on your list. One more offseason...

Our defense is playing much better then before (ie, last year and earlier this season) but the mistakes are still there. That 30+ yard reception on the second to last play of the game is what killed us. How do you leave LJ that wide open? Not one player closer then 15 yards. Those are the mistakes losing teams make and until that gets fixed we cannot expect to win many games.

    Bingo!

How many more times do we need to see Breyton get beat to the sidlines? Schewigart is on the bubble w/his missed tackles. If he's going to make bullfighter moves back there, I'm thinking Carr needs a chance.

We have good players, but we don't have versatile ones. Right now we either play our base 4-3 package, which leaves us vulnerable to the pass, or we play the big nickel package, which leaves us vulnerable to the run.

The good news is this can be easily fixed. One more versatile Dtackle who can play both the run and the pass well and one more LB who can cover and the problem is solved.

Agreed. See my post above. The main problem is that our defense isn't versatile enough, although this can be fixed with 1-2 players.

Asomugha would be one of the top CB's in the NFL if he could catch like he could tackle!!!!!!! He is excellent at mirroring recievers and breaking on the ball- but ofcourse we all know his primary strength; hitting the snot out of guys...

Fabs still has along way to go in his development but other than that rookie mistake on sunday he's not looked out of place at all, which is quite a compliment for a rookie.

That's exactly how I feel. If we address those positions this coming offseason, I think our D could be incredibly solid in the '06 season. We've already seen some progress this season, those extra parts could put this D over the top.

yeah they are playing excellent so far, especially Washington, he has come a long way since not getting the time in the pre-season, i actually thought he was a bust but he has proven me wrong so far, and like Guru said if Asomugha could even catch just a little bit he would be even better because he makes beautiful breaks on the ball, but i guess thats why he is a DB, lol
