Pierre Woods

Linebacker out of Michigan. I hope the Raiders draft him next season. He could be a weak linebacker for the Raiders for years and years to come.

If you say so...
I don't know anything about him, but i love the fact that there are guys (young, talented prospects) that i haven't even heard about available for the draft-showing us how deep the LB position will be in 2005!

There are literally around 20 LB's that could be considered first day material in 05!

To me i think we should take advantage of this and draft an LB in the 2nd/3rd round and use our 1st rounder on either Brimmer or Benson/Cadillac...

He's really good, but I'd like to see us land Derrick Johnson from Texas. He's got the speed to cover from sideline to sideline, and he wreaks havoc in the backfield.
If he's already off the board,I'd like for us to get Kevin Burnett, from the University of Tennessee. He's got tons of athletism, and toughness.

Assassin1 is on a distinguished road
Ahmad Brooks from Virginia is the man, if we're gonna go linebacker. He is a sophomore but he is three years outta high school. It is up to him. I say take Brooks in the 1st, and Barber in the second.

Finally! Someone has commented on Kevin Burnett!!! I think he maybe one of the best candidates at LB this year, and has slipped under pretty much everyone's radar!

http://utsports.collegesports.com/sp...t_kevin00.html

He suffered an injury in 03 which hampered him last season, despite the fact he played through pain and registered 90 tackles!

I think if we can get him in the second round we've got a bargain!

Hes got good size and has been productive in college, could be a second round pick, first day prospect definitely. His knees are a problem though and hurt his stock. The two Kevins for Tennessee at LB are great though, both Burnett and Kevin Simon, who is undersized at 5'11 for a MLB but as weve seen from London Fletcher and Al Wilson, undersized Mike backers can still be great in the NFL

I thought Vilma was a little undersized too this year, but he is more than coping in the NFL!

2. Ahmad Brooks
3. Kevin Burnett
4. Michael Boley
5. Daryl Blackstock
6. AJ Hawk
7. Will Derting
8. Rian Wallace
9. Pierre Woods
10. Zac Woodfin

Three ILB's also:

1. Lance Mitchell
2. Kirk Morrison
3. Odell Thurman

Guru,I've been able to keep a close eye on Burnett since I only live 15 miles south of Knoxville. All of the UT games are televised locally, and I'm a HUGE Vols fan.
He's a friggin beast of a linebacker. cheers

6. A.J. Hawk
7. Will Derting
8. Pierre Woods
9. Derek Wake (a monster on STs too, blocked tons of kicks too)
10. Lionel Turner

ILBs

1. Kirk Morrison (Great, vastly underrated player that is ahead of Mithcell just because of his injury risk, as he tore his ACL last year and missed most of the year)
2. Lance Mithcell
3. Abdul Hodge
4. Odell Thurman
5. Barrett Ruud

Kirk Morrison would be a great pickup in the 2nd round! I think i'd like too seee us draft an ILB since we only have Nap and Danny Clark there at the moment-Yet loads of players competing for the OLB spots... Add to that the fact Ryan has said he may use Nap on the outside more-and possibly move Rudd to ILB...

The only thing i don't see in your rankings is having Darryl Blackstock over fellow Virginia LB Ahmad Brooks... Brooks has great size and is a physical freak on the field-projected middle first rounder!

1. Morrison, the Raiders seem happy with Danny Clark in training camp and if he plays well there will be no need to draft one if we keep Nap at MLB.

2. I like Blackstock because he is versatile and has more experience, Brooks is a sophomore (but will be able to enter this years draft because he attended a military academy before going to virginia) just like why I have Donte Nicholson and Jammal Brimmer ahead of Darnell Bing in my safety rankings. Since both Brooks and Blackstock have experience in a 3-4 because that is the base defense of Virginia, they both should be targeted by the Raiders in the early rounds.

I think we should go after Derrick Johnson, Fred Burnett, Pierre Woods, or Lionel Turner. The Raiders need to add a couple linebackers next season. Considering Dwayne Rudd is only on a one year deal and if he does not do good, he wont be back.

As much as I'd love to see Derrick Johnson in Silver and Black, I doubt he'll be on the board by the time we draft. Ahmad Brooks may be an option if we go with a LB in the 1st round.

I totally agree in that experience is a bonus and that Virginia LB's should top our list...But would you rather an extra year of colege coaching OR NFL coaching for a young proven player? Depends on the player right?

Although Nap and Danny are kickin ass at ILB i still think we could use another option/depth/someone who can either be part of a rotation or fill in well when another gets injured... Blackstock is versatille right? He'd be perfect if he could play ILB too...
