2005 Mock Draft
http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/sub/mockdraft.html
14. Oakland Raiders: Ahmad Brooks, OLB, Virginia
After losing Eric Barton as a free agent and Bill Romanowski to retirement the Raiders plan to go with journeyman Dwayne Rudd and unproven youngster Sam Williams in 2004. Like Darnell Bing, Brooks attended a prep school for a year to get his grades in order before coming Virginia, thus making it three years since his high school class graduated and making him eligible to enter the 2005 NFL Draft if he so chooses. A big, strong, athletic playmaker, Brooks is ready for the NFL physically and is just the type of big-time prospect the Raiders need in their linebacking corps.

Thats cool But what about all the RB's that will be coming out next year. I think we need a RB or WR in the first next year. And hopefully we are picking at #25 or later.

Yea, WR is going to be a big need next year since Rice said he was going to retire after this year, and Brown will probably go as well.

Yea, thats why I wish Mike Williams was in the supplemental draft, because there is no way we will get a player of that calibur after next year, but if we win the big one, we would be in a rebuild then so every position would be a big need.

DRaft pick
Im sure im gonna hear some **** for this since we got collins, but I think a good pick would be a QB. Not just any QB. A local boy. Aaron Rodgers out of Cal Berkely. This kid is gonna be something. Check out the stats..... the only team to beat USC????? thats right, it was cal. Bowl game vs Virginia tech...... hes puts up 400 yards passing and 4 or 5 touchdowns. Mark my words, whoever passes up on this guy is gonna be sorry.

WR? Why? Are we planning on not re-signing Porter? Are we all of a sudden going back to a spread offense? Bah. Screw a WR. Draft a RB. Hell, draft two. Having a pair of #1 WRs would be nice, but with all the money we're likely to have to spend on Porter, dropping a #1 pick on another WR is just pouring too much into one position. Especially when you look at our D-line. Ted and Parrella will need a young man-beast to take over the NT duties pretty soon. We're pretty shakey at QB too. I won't even bring up the fact that our RB corps is one of the least impressive in football.
RB, QB, NT, ILB, and of these would be acceptable. Add OLB to that list if none of our guys step up this year.

No way we go for a OLB. We have too many young guys there already. Next year's RB class is awesome, I would to see Cadillac running for the Raiders.

I just scanned over the entire mock. Do these people actually believe that Oakland would pass on Cadillac Williams if he was available? Give me a break. Norv needs that feature back to make his offens | | |
