Sporting News Raiders mock

Here's how The Sporting News' "War Room" sees the Raiders draft, assuming no trades. Looks like the Raiders will have a monopoly on receivers who go by their initials.

1. (2) Robert Gallery, OT, Iowa
2. (45) Michael Boulware, OLB, Florida St.
3. (67) Maurice Clarett, RB, Ohio St.
4. (99) B.J. Johnson, WR, Texas
5. (134) Rashad Washington, S, Kansas St.
6. (166) P.K. Sam, WR, Florida St.
7. (205) Jeff smoker, QB, Michigan St.
7. (223) A.J. Ricker, C, Missouri
7. (245) Mark Pierce, FB, Arkansas
7. (255) Trey Darilek, G, Texas-El Paso

Not bad...I would love Boulware as an OLB on our d., he'll beat our T.Smith/Clark and be a starter..or knock one of those off to be their 4th LB!
Clarett is such an Al pick!

Talking dam gallery/roy

is a very hard choice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lets see do raiders want a shut down left tackle pass blocking o line or a speedster wide receiver to compliment porter?????????????????????????? dam nation aint this a great and shocking patient opportunity for al to decide does he want a speedster wr or oline?dam nation either way we can't go wrong!!!!!!!!!! i hope its roy..but then again it would be nice to have gallery shuting down simeon rice, jason taylor, kearse, and so on every time we meet them speedsters des.

true, but there was a story in Sports Ilustrated a while back about how he reformed and changed his ways.

7. (245) Mark Pierce, FB, Arkansas
7. (255) Trey Darilek, G, Texas-El Paso
They updated their mock draft on the 14th.

Raiders picks:

1. (2) R. Gallery T Iowa
2. (45) M. Boulware OLB Florida St.
3. (67) J. Jones RB Notre Dame
4. (99) T. Luke WR Alabama
5. (134) R. Baker S Tennessee
6. (166) D. Watts WR Marshall
7. (205) R. Dinwiddie QB Boise St.
7. (223) T. Cecil C Tex. Tech
7. (245) M. Pierce FB Arkansas
7. (255) T. Clabo G Wake For.

Love the first 2 picks, would prefer to see us go WR in the third round in that scenario. I'd much rather have Rashad Washington over Baker and Jeff Smoker over Dinwiddie.

Whether you believe RB is a need or not, I like Jones as a very solid sleeper pick in this draft....

Agreed. Jones would be a far better choice than Clarett.

I agree with you guys on Jones, but I'd still prefer to a WR in the third. Well, maybe not if we get Jones then...

there is so much talent in this draft that i'm in favor of about any trade down option that i have heard about. (as long as we do not select Winslow) I see nothing wrong w/ trading down once or twice (maybe a third) so long as we get more 2nd rounders or next yrs firsts.
1st Roy Williams/ S Taylor (one trade down) Udeze or Greg Jones with 2 or 3 trade downs
2nd (hopefully 2 or more pics) S Schwiegert, G Jones, J Grove, M Boulware, crap there be too many left to just choose one
3rd (iether WR, LB or OL) Daryl Smith, Teddy Lehaman Sammie Parker or the guy that played opposite BMW or the wr from NC don't see nothing wrong with DE Dave Ball or TE Jason Peters here iether
4th Max Starks OL , Drew Carter WR (speed and height)
5th Kirk Chambers OL , any stud LB available
6th BJ Symmons QB (too short, lacks expierence and whatever ) just hope he is still available
7th all the long shots... ones coming off an injury last year or year b4 all the size or the over achieving undersized. just love the name, Dante Balestracci LB , Roderick Royal LB and to conclude k2 would be ok in the 7th round
