Kevin Jones a second rounder
Kevin Jones RB Jones (5-11 5/8, 224) ran his 40s in 4.61, 4.63 and 4.65. He had a 37-inch vertical, a 9-9 long jump, 18 reps, a 4.10 short shuttle and a 7.17 three-cone drill
This guy was only a first rounder for speed. This guy was supposed to run a 4.3 or 4.25. He is a terrible interior runner and needs speed to succeed in the NFL
This only means that if we do not get Dillon Perry and or Greg Jones will be pushed back even further now with more people wary of those runningbacks. One of these three will fall to us.

He has great upfield vision and will help the Buc’s offense. I do not believe that Michael Pittman or Thomas Jones will ever become feature backs, but I know that Jones will.
|
Dude, youve soured on him? You said he had great upfield vision not too long ago! As a RB you never lose that!

Still love the vision, but for gods sakes Jake Grove almost had a better shuttle than him. He was #1 on peoples boards because they thought hed run fast. I know he has moves, but he can only run outside and cannot catch. I have always liked Steven Jackson more than him. Now Jones will not be a first rounder

Damn thats horrible. 4.6 40 time. Kellen Winslow runs faster than that. I don't know how you get a 7. cone drill for a running back...
Who knows, maybe he is the next Bolden.

Kevin Jones is the next Wheatley. Just as slow, but, not quite as tough.

guys, he HAD to have been hurt. Does anybody have a good link of this workout?
And i disagree that "This guy was only a first rounder for speed."
Why isnt Lee Evans a first rounder with a very high 40? Larry Fitzgerald isnt all that fast, why is he a top 2 pick? Theres alot more variables than just speed.

Yes I know, but Jones cannot run inside, and he cannot catch the ball, he is one dimensional. He needs speed to succeed. He will hold a private workout soon to hopefully get a better time.

Lee Evans is a first rounder. The only reason he might not have been a first round is cause of his knee, but that's checked out well. He might be the best WR in the draft skill wise, it's only his size keeping him behind the Williams's and Fitz.
Kevin Jones definately plays faster than this time but I was shocked he ran that slow. Hopefully for him he redeems himself in the second workout at VA Tech.

Exactly how is Lee Evans a first rounder? He MAY be a first rounder, but he is far from a sure thing. His knee is a good reason, but i think he's proven that he's beyond that with his awesome workouts.
Heres a few other reasons hes not a first rounder.
1. Larry Fitzgerald
2. Mike Williams
3. Reggie Williams
4. Roy Williams
5. Rashaun Woods
6. Devery Henderson
I might be missing 1 or 2. All of these are guaranteed or are slipping into the end of the 1st round. I'm not saying he's not first round material, but now with Philly getting TO thats just one more team not needing a WR. Lee could go #31 to KC though.
I'll give him 30% chance to make 1st round.

I would never say never with anything on the NFL draft, but I'd give him a real solid chance to be in the first round. There's no way Devery Henderson would go before him when Evans runs just as fast and is a better college reciever. He's a proven playmaker and I don't think teams would pass up on that.

Supposedly Jones's father, who is living his dream through his son, had the kid over trained. It was said he was sick when he ran those times. Dad needs to get the f' out of the kids way and let him be a man. I hope this guy does not get drafted by the Raiders because his dad is worse than Mrs. Warner.
