If we trade C.Wood
Dont get me wrong, Im as big of a Cwood fan youll find, but if Detroit was ofering their first and second this year Id have to take it. With these picks Id do the following.
Our#2= Mike Williams, Porter and Williams could destroy opposing db's Detroits#6= Sean Taylor, possibly best saftey 2 come out eva, and is def. a need position Detroits 2nd rounder= Nat Dorsey, big tackle who can play Left Tackle, with him and Langston wed be set for a good while at tackle Our second rounder= Darnell Dockett, good solid, pass rushing Dt, who could start immediately. If we did this wed be getting 4 players who could start right away and immediatley improbve our team. Lemme know what ya think |

I'm a huge CWood fan, but the last couple of years, he's slipped off the radar as a top notch DB that is feared in the league. Take the playoffs in 2002, NY and Tenn. went right at him, and beat him quite badly. Granted, he was hurt, but teams continue to go after him. Where's the Pro Bowls??? And then he wants Al to break the bank for him??? We don't need that big of an ego around here. I'd listen to offers. I know, I know, he had a pick in the SB, but watch the replay, he was beat and the ball caught him. Time for Big Mike and the New Jerry to open things up. Time for Philip Buchanon to run that secondary now.

18 Million up front for Woodson = Bad Deal
Woodson will want at least the type of money that Bailey gets, and that is just too rich for my blood. I'm not sure that you need to have a shut down corner of Woodson's caliber, so long as you have a strong pass rush. I do know that without a pass rush, a shut down corner like Woodson doesn't really mean squat.
For Detroit's First and Second, I would definitely make the trade. I'd use the 18 million that would go to Woodson to sign both of our first round picks and then focus on adding to the pass rush through the second round picks and through free-agency. Personally, I like the sound of Gallery in the first round, along with Sean Taylor. I'd hold off on WR until the second or maybe even the third round. Now that Garner is cut loose, I'm also looking for us to pick up a RB in the third round. |

As much as I would hate to see CWood leave, Detroit's 1 and 2 is a lot. Also, I agree CWood os going to want big $$ along the lines of Bailey. I'm not sure we are in the position to pay that kind of dough with so many other needs.

one BIG concern w/ draft picks ... they are all a gamble with no nfl exp. to judge things by, true would love to have S Taylor and M White and a bonus 2nd rounder or two but you just can't tell who will pan out and who won't period it is like trying to predict who will get a season ending injury in next pre-season and/or weeks 1-4. ya just can't tell

Trade Woodson to Detroit for the 1st and high 2nd, then we can get a CB and another need and spread the wealth instead of if all on Woodson. He isn't a top corner anymore IMO.

Do you think Detroit could pay for Woodson? They have quite a bit of money invested in Dre Bly already.
