How about we trade C-Wood to Arizona and grab 2 prime picks in the 1st round ....2nd and 3rd pick

While that may sound inticing it also is a little risky. Besides who is gonna replace C Wood. Im a proponent for taking Gallery that way no matter who is the QB - Eli/Ben then they will have some real protection.

I like both ideas really, I cant recall the last time there were so many great prospects available in the top 15 picks...if Mike Williams enters the draft it will make it even more interesting....tough decision either way we go.

Re: Combine Day 2 Thoughts - Gallery or Fitz?
Quote:
That's a shade inaccurate. He's good, but he's not on the same level as those 3 guys. If he were, he'd already be the consensus #1 overall pick. Besides, LT is hardly a critical need. Sims will be fine. Or if we could find a good RT somewhere, Walker could be a stellar LT. No point in blowing our wad on Gallery. |

I disagree, Gallery is actually projected #3 and that is only because of Eli, Fitz, and Ben. If this is the projection then how could Gallery be placed any hire. We all have our own oppinions and that is cool. The O starts on the front line. "Turnstile" Simms is not cutting it. We need to move him to guard. Then we can figure which T to play which side of the line. We kill 3 birds with one stone by drafting Gallery.
1. We get to give Tui a chance to see if he will work or not. 2. We can get more success out of NT's O. 3. We can get a line back to prominance. Thats my 2 cents

Mike Williams 6'5" 230
Very good looking player, great hands, we could trade down to get him and add extra picks. Very good numbers the last two years against decent teams. We have a lot of needs and the 1st three rds are deep with talent.

Told you gallery was the man to get... have the feeling Marty will snag him.
He is the best prospect since Pace or the Vikes rook from last year... one key blocker addidition made the Vikes O line playoff caliber. Kurt Warner was a scrube until pace let him read D's all day. Gallery isn't quite as big but is still looking to growing curve years...the only man to take instead of him would be Big Ben whose numbers and raw physical skills do not lie.

Gallery is the safe pick. With the exception of Mandarich, I can't think of an offensive tackle taken in the top 5/10 in many years that's been a complete bust.
That list includes: Pace (Pro Bowler) Ogden (Pro Bowler) Boselli (Pro Bowler) Turley (Pro Bowler) Willie Anderson (very good) Samuels (Pro Bowler) Leonard Davis (very good, but has moved to guard) |
