I read your thought on Rod Davis. He sounds like a taller Mike Singletary at this stage of their careeers to include some of the intangibles. Am I going overboard here?![]()

How so RINY; gimme some specifics bruddah
If he has the fire in his belly he can be just a little worse than Singletary. He has loads of potential and he is a great player. He plays almost like Lawrence Taylor though, as he relies on making plays in the backfield. He had a play at S Miss when he could blitz whenever he wanted and he had 9 sacks as a result in his Junior year. Id love to get him in the second roundOriginally posted by SMASHMOUTH

Thanks Liebp. Do up think he could last until our third round pick?
In my last mock draft I did in school I had us drafting Michael Boulware in the second (I think Barton will leave) but if we draft a DT in round two then Davis could fall to us in the third roundOriginally posted by SMASHMOUTH

BOulware hmmm; do you think he is too small
Nope. I like Boulware because he makes plays everywhere with his speed and he covers like a safety and hits like a linebacker. We need both.Originally posted by SMASHMOUTH

Where do you see him paling in the NFL
Smasmouth, and Liebs, with all do respect..the guy is a good player...
but, mentioning guys like L.T (one of the top 10 players probably all-time) and Singletary (a all-time LB) is kinda over doing it!
At 6-3 246, he has good size. He has fine speed but, in no way he is a sack machine at LB. he had double digit sacks his junior season but, that was due to the way they used him (i.e scheme, blitzing).
He'll be a solid OLB in the NFL.
I didnt mean skill wise, I meant in means of how he plays the game. He played like LT in CUSA, but he will be much worse in the NFL. Im still higher than him than most. And Boulware will most likely play LB in the NFL or LB on running downs and safety in passing downs,.Originally posted by RaiderInNY

RINY I am not trying to place him in the HPF. Just that he has similiar credentials as Singletery when he was at Baylor; and if he was utilized in the same system that made Singletary a household name that we we may be able to expect a fair degree of success from him and get him at a resonable price. Just looking at upgrading the position
