Question Would the Raiders d4raft Taylor?

Everyone has the Raiders drafting Fitzgerald or a QB, but would they take safety Sean Taylor at #2?

The draft is very deep at WR. The Raiders have a shot at getting a good WR in the 2nd and even the 3rd round.

Would Davis feel "the next Ronnie Lott" is too good to pass up, and look for a WR later in the draft?

No matter what I want, it isn't going to happen. The only way the Raiders draft Sean Taylor is if they trade down.

If Al does, Rob Ryan will probably rename his first-born after him,

As will I.

Forget the man's position. Impact players are a good choice no matter where you pick.

Why not a safety at number 2? Of course nobody takes a kicker in the first round. Point is AL will take who AL wants when he thinks he can get him. If we trade down, how far are we talking about going? He might go anywhere from the 4th through 7th pick.

And if a guy is worth the #4 pick, he's certainly worth the #2.

Best defensive player in the country, and we need all the help on D we can get.

Sean Taylor is the best player on the board . He will help our the Raiders defense a lot he is the new Freak Ive watched him play all year By this time next year Sean Taylor will be the best FS in the NFL Larry Fitzgerald will not be the best WR
Raiders dont need a WR with the 2nd pick they can get a good wr in the 2nd round or via FA the Raiders need to build up there defense and Sean Taylor is a great way to start

Raiders will not spend 6 consecutive 1st round picks(Gibson, Nap, Pbuc, Aso, Brayton) on a defensive player. He mentioned in the press conference that he is concerned with the offense not scoring points. TAKE IT TO THE BANK, AL DRAFTS OFFENSE. High probability he takes Eli or Ben.

He mentioned scoring points, so it's a lock that we draft offense? Hardly. We're in the "smokescreen" portion of the offseason. The Fitzgerald to Arizona rumors are proof enough of that.

If you ever get the impression that Al just tipped his hand, believe me, he didn't.

It has nothing to do with tipping your hand. When you're at #2 overall there's not a lot people can do to screw you. In this particular draft offense is very strong, defense is weaker at the top. With the exception of Taylor, no other defensive player even comes close to the talent of Manning, or Fitz. But Al will not draft a safety with the number 2 pick. Al is very dissappointed with the way we scored points last season and that is why he hired an offensive minded coach. He is not going to hire Turner and say to him "work with what we got". He's going to get him players!

Let's not draft a safety in the first round, we don't know how!

We should trade down, staying in the top 10 and picking up at least another late first/second round pick plus possibly a 4th round pick and draft Kenechi Udeze, DE, USC. He's gonna be a beast at DE in the NFL. He would fill our biggest need too, IMO.

Then with the second round pick we should get in a trade down, we should draft Donnell Washington, DT, Clemson (6'6/320lbs.). He's the guy I hope we draft in the second anyway and then with Tampa's second round pick we should get the best OT/OG available or a WR.
