Mock Draft 3.0

1. Chargers: Eli Manning, QB, OleMiss- Smart player who can become a leader of an offense. Since the Chargers know that Drew Brees is not the future, why pass on a talent like Manning?

2. Raiders: Larry Fitzgerald, WR, Pittsburgh- Huge player who understands the game. The Raiders's receivers are getting up there and it is not known yet if Jerry Porter can become a go-to-guy.

3. Cardinals: Ben Roethlisberger, QB, Miami (Ohio)- I doubt Denny Green really wants another wide receiver, after drafting Bryant Johnson and Anquan Boldin in the first round, and there is plenty of depth at wide receiver. Roethlisberger has immense talent and plenty of potential.

4. Giants: Robert Gallery, OT, Iowa- The safest pick there, Gallery will finally give whoever starts at quarterback for the Giants proper protection. With both top quarterbacks off the board, Gallery is the pick.

5. Redskins: Tommie Harris, DT, Oklahoma- Undersized but athletic and strong, the dominant Harris will be a force in the NFL and will help the Redskins's weak defensive line.

6. Lions: Sean Taylor, S, Miami- The athletically-gifted Taylor will give the Lions a future quarterback of their secondary they desperately need.

7. Falcons: Roy Williams, WR, Texas- While Tommie Harris is another option, with Jim Mora Jr. switching back to a 4-3 defense, Harris will not be able to be utilized in a desirable way for the Falcons. Peerless Price struggled without Eric Moulds to take coverages off of him and he is too small to be a legitimate threat.

8. Browns: Shawn Andrews, OT/OG, Arkansas- With Andrews's recent weight struggles, his draft stock has been hurt, but he still is the second ranked offensive tackle in the draft. He is a huge player who will give plenty of holes for William Green.

9. Jaguars: Kenechi Udeze Jr., DE, USC- Udeze may take time to develop, but he will become a star because of his pass rushing skills.

10. Texans: Randy Starks, DT, Maryland- Athletic player who will help the Texans's defensive line. The only thing keeping the Texans out of the playoffs is their defensive line.

11. Steelers: Steven Jackson, RB, Oregon State- While cornerback is another concern, there are plenty of free agents to get and there is great depth at the cornerback position in the draft. Jackson is a power runner who can become a great player. He can also be a target for Tommy Maddox on short routes.

12. New York Jets: D.J. Williams, LB, Miami- With Donnie Henderson hinting he wants to use faster linebackers who are aggresive, Williams hits the bill. With the Jets having two graybeards starting at linebacker, the Jets need new blood at the position. While Jonathan Vilma is another choice, he will move to weakside linebacker in the NFL and the Jets already have Sam Cowhart there. Williams is also bigger than Vilma.

13. Buffalo Bills: Kellen Winslow Jr., TE, Miami- The Bills need another threat for Drew Bledsoe to throw to, as Eric Moulds cannot do everything by himself. Josh Reed has done an adequate job replacing Peerless Price, but he is a little undersized.

14. Chicago Bears: Kevin Jones, RB, Virginia Tech- I do not think that Anthony Thomas will be a Bear for long, and Jones is too good to pass up. He posseses a sprinter's speed and he has great upfield vision.

15. Tampa Bay Bucanneers: Vince Wilfork, DT, Miami- The Bucanneers play a fast defense and for someone who is as big as Wilfork, he fits their defense.

16. 49ers: Rashaun Woods, WR, Oklahoma State- The big Woods will help ease the pain of the loss of Terrell Owens. Mike Clayton is another possibility, but he is a little raw to be taken so high.

17. Bengals: Deangelo Hall, CB, Virginia Tech- Hall is an aggresive player who will help patch up the Bengals's weak secondary.

18. Saints: Karlos Dansby, LB, Auburn- The Saints will need to stuff the run to make the playoffs and Dansby will do that. The Saints also are weak at linebacker.

19. Vikings: Dunta Robinson, CB, South Carolina- An aggresive player who fits Mike Tice's defense.

20. Dolphins: Philip Rivers, QB, North Carolina State- Rivers is a great leader who the Dolphins are showing interest in. With them behind in the Drew Henson sweepstakes, Rivers is the choice.

21. Patriots: Nat Dorsey, OT, Georgia Tech- Dorsey is an athletic player who will become the anchor of the Patriots's line in several years. His stock is on the rise.

22. Cowboys: Greg Jones, RB, Florida State- With Troy Hambrick proving himself useless, the Cowboys will be looking to go for a runningback. Jones is the best runningback on the board and he has the power to help immediately.

23. Seahawks: Will Smith, DE, Ohio State- Smith will give the Seahawks an outside blitzer who can develop into a star. His size is the only thing holding him back.

24. Broncos: Derrick Strait, CB, Oklahoma- The Broncos need help at cornerback and the aggresive Strait is the answer. He has good ball recognition skills and is good in man-to-man coverage.

25. Packers: Marcus Tubbs, DT, Texas- A big run stuffer, Tubbs will make plenty of holes for linebackers Na'il Diggs and Nick Barnett to make plays in.

26. Saint Louis Rams: Ben Troupe, TE, Florida- Mike Martz will want to go offense with this pick and the strong Troupe is the best choice. Brandon Manumanela is a leadblocker only, and Troupe can stretch the field.

27. Titans: Jake Grove, C, Virginia Tech- With the Titans's ailing offensive line, Grove can step in and make an impact from day one. Grove has the fire in his belly to be a star in the NFL.

28. Philadelphia Eagles: Mike Clayton, WR, LSU- Clayton will help one of the worst receiving corps in the NFL. He is a good threat up the middle who can be unstoppable if he bulks up.

29. Colts: Jonathan Vilma, LB, Miami- Vilma played in an aggresive scheme, just like Tony Dungy's. He is instinctive enough to start in the NFL and become a force. He is a little undersized.

30. Chiefs: Will Poole, CB, USC- A big corner, Poole will help the Chiefs's defense immensely. Poole can also help the run. With Dexter McLeon a little small, Poole can step up and become the Chiefs's number one corner in a few years.

31. Panthers: Donttarious Thomas, LB, Auburn- With the Panthers in need of another strong linebacker with the absence of Mark Fields, Thomas can step in. Thomas fits the Panthers's defense.

32. Patriots: Chris Perry, RB, Michigan- The Patriots need a true runningback to become a more balanced offensive unit. Perry can handle the load and he has the size to succeed in the NFL.
