I certainly wouldn't be upset to draft him. At #2 my list includes:
Eli Manning, QB Robert Gallery, OL Sean Taylor, S Larry Fitzgerald, WR I wish Julius Peppers was coming out this year.....

What happened to our 34th pick? Did we lose it? If not we might be able to nab two off your list. It will be either Fitz or Manning but not both. One of the other two might be a stretch but it is possible.

We traded the pick last year to the Texans so we could draft Sam.....

If that happens then I would like to see us grab Fitz. But that is easy to say from here. One or the other will be available. With San Diego in the Brunell sweepstakes I don't see why they would take Manning. Although they may be tempted to trade there pick at that point. No matter who is picked first the other will be available next. It comes down to we either get a Manning or a Moss.

If you expect Fitzgerald to look anything like Moss, you're going to be greatly disappointed. He's a Chris Carter, Keyshawn Johnson type. The only reason he'll ever run a go route will be to clear room for the TE to get open.

Roy and Porter would be a scary combo, though. |

Ref I have to agree with you. I was jumping for joy when AZ scored that touchdown to beat Minn, and that was because I figured there would be a good chance to get Eli. I've had the chance to watch Eli a few times, and I have been very impressed, with not only his play, but moreso with his leadership. There was a play where he threw a ball a little behind his receiver and you could see him go pat the receiver on the butt and tell him "my fault". When do you ever see that from Gannon. Eli is exactly what this team needs, a leader that our offense can rally behind. I really like Tui, but we can't pass the chance to get someone like Eli. I don't know a lot about Roeth, I only watched him play once, but he looked very good, I was very surprised at his ability to throw on the run(reminded me of Elway). I would not be dissappointed with either.

Just curious, have you watched Fitzgerald play constantly? |

Constantly? No. Enough to know he's not going to run away from many people? Yes.
I like him. He's going to be good, no question. And if we were still going to run the West Coast Fun & Gun, I'd be all for him. We're not, so I'm not. |

For the record and what makes me so interested in Eli. I get to about half the home games each year. I spend time with many knowlegable people. We talk about football throughout the year and as soon as Eli was mentioned I started following him everyweek. Not being the biggest fan of college football took some getting adjusted too. First I had to get accustomed to finding Ole Miss in the college rankings then I had to keep up on the TV schedule so I could see him to judge for myself. While watching him through the course of the season I couldn't help but be impressed over his skills and confidence he possessed. Eli isn't the type of QB to get rattled. Eli controls the field like a general. When Eli needed to step things up he did. I had seen Eli master drives that started deep in his own territory. I had even seen him do this in the rain. Bottomline Eli is calm, cool, and collective. In 5 years Roth will be either forgotten or want to be forgotten. While Eli will be helping his team make playoff appearances. Roth doesn't even have a name that can easly be spelled or fit on a jersey.
