Exclamation Trade Rumblings....

Word is that the Steelers want to package their 11th pick and a player (my guess is Burress) and the Steelers would get the Chargers #1.....

No deal for the Raiders, but there are sure to be plenty of rumors. Keep in mind that although I have no idea whod they pick (Gallery?) but they have a boatload of midround picks from several dealings that they are willing to get rid of.

Now there is some rumors that the player is Gildon or Haggins, which would be even dumber. Couldnt see it going through if it was for Gildon, but yes for Burress. Anyway, the Steelers like Roethlisberger more than Manning, so we would/could probably get Manning at #2.

Thought?

I think us and SD would like to stay in the top 6 at least. A rookie WR would fit in better w/ what we have than bringin in another veteran (if they were shoppin to us). I also like Roth better. Whoever is takin first will have a lot more pressure to succeed.

Yea, they have holes everywhere so I dont know what they really want. SD would probably want to stay in the top 6 as you said. Its really way too early to take huge interest in these and I doubt it will go through. I think the Chargers would try for the best player on the board or whatver quarterback is left from Roethlisberger/Manning (I doubt either will be on the board at pick #4, though) I think Id take Fitzgerald over Roethlisberger because of the fact that we need WR help and we have Tui, like or not, hell probably start. Of course, say we trade down to someone like the steelers and then draft Steven Jackson and get the Steelers second rounder. Jackson is a Norv type of guy, but it will be Al's decision. We could get Lee Evans in the second with the Steelers pick, Schweigert, Dockett, Ware, whoever with the Bucs pick, and then adress our offensive line in the third round.

Gildon will help us at LB, but isnt he on the other side of his career.

I also didn't know the Bucs would be picking for us. They better not screw us.

Or we could just draft Eli or Fitz.

Among the franchises that might be interested in acquiring Henson, who almost certainly would have been a first-round draft choice if he had stayed at Michigan for his final two seasons of eligibility, are Buffalo, Green Bay, Kansas City, Miami and Pittsburgh.

Just last week, and I haven't read anything different...
I read it somewhere, Ill find it for you.

With former Michigan QB Drew Henson edging closer to returning to football after a 3-year hiatus as a 3rd baseman in the New York Yankees' minor league chain, Pittsburgh is one team believed to have some interest in pursuing a trade with Houston to acquire his rights. Houston, of course, used a 6th round pick at the 2003 draft to select Henson, but have to sign and deal him prior to this year's draft or he goes back into this year's draft pool. And Pittsburgh head coach Bill Cowher did nothing to dampen speculation that the Steelers might be interested in Henson when he stated that the team is" cerainly going to explore all its options" in that regard. Indeed, the Steelers have confirmed they will be sending a scout to next week's workout in Houston where Henson will be showing off his stuff. Sources in the Steelers' front-office, though, deny that Pittsburgh has much interest at all in Henson. According to the source, the Steelers aren't willing to give up a high pick for Henson - the Texans are believed to be looking for at least a second rounder in exchange - for a player who hasn't been in pads for over three years; they also aren't prepared to meet the kind of salary demands Henson is likely to command.

I believe Pitt is throwing up a smoke screen and will look hard at Henson...

Trades

Sd will trade down to grab Galley........ with Arizona. Arizona will then Grab Eli.

We need to stay in the top 10 if we trade down

Possible trade partners

Giants, Atlanta both would love Sean Taylor
Browns - Al would piss off SD because the Browns would love Galley,
