Just for ****s and giggles...
My ideal Raiders draft, as of 01/30/04.
Round 1 Selection #2 Larry Fitzgerald, WR, Pittsburgh. - If not available for whatever reason, trade down, get more picks and draft either Sean Taylor, S, Miami, Robert Gallery, OT, Iowa, Kenechi Udeze, DE, USC or Roy Williams, WR, Texas. Round 2 Selection #45 Darnell Dockett, DT, Florida State - It's very unlikely that he will be available when the Raiders make their second round selection. Therefore I would be more than happy with one of the following at the DT position: Marcus Tubbs, DT, Texas, Donell Washington, DT, Clemson, Dwan Edwards, DT Oregon State or Demarco McNeil, DT, Auburn. Getting a solid DT in the second round should be a priority IMO. Round 3 Selection #67 Daryl Smith, ILB, Georgia Tech - If we could get a good ILB here, then we could keep Napoleon Harris on the Strong side, where he belongs. Daryl Smith fits the mold. He's very athletic, tough and experienced. He also has good speed. If he's not available I would like to see us draft either Richard Seigler, ILB, Oregon State or Rod Davis, ILB, Southern Mississippi. Round 4 Selection #98 Claude Harriott, DE, Pittsburgh - Had a subpar 2003 season which might be a reason why he could fall out of the first day. If that happens there's no doubt in my mind Al Davis would jump on him early in the 4th round. Other options: Nathaniel Adibi, DE, Virginia Tech, Isaac Sopoaga, DT, Hawaii or Shannon Snell, OG, Florida. Round 5 Selection #129 Brian Rimpf, OT, East Carolina - Sleeper with great size (6'6/318lbs.) and experience. To some this might be considered a gamble but he faced Julius Peppers and Dwight Freeney in '01 and did a fine job. I also know the Raiders were checking him out a the Senior Bowl and if they're determined to get this guy, they might even take him in the 4th round if he has a good combine/private workouts. Either way a guy with terrific size, good mobility and a hard worker. Other option: Kirk Chambers, OT, Stanford. Round 6 Selection #160 Glenn Earl , S, Notre Dame - Big hitter who always plays aggressive and hard. Typical Raider. Doesn't have great speed and had a knee injury in 2003. If he's available when we pick at the top of round 6, he could end up being a steal. Other options: JR Reed, S, South Florida or Brett Hudson, S, Arizona State. Round 7 Selection # 195 Chris Thompson, CB, Nicholls State - Adding some depth at CB migh be a good idea here. We're looking at possibly losing at least 2 CB's (Shaw and Love) and maybe even 3, if Woodson decides to leave. Then again, that might change our entire draft if that were to happen. Other options: Kelvin Millhouse, CB, Hawaii and Bruce Thornton, CB, Georgia. Round 7 Selection # 213 (obtained from Dallas) Jim Molinaro, OT, Notre Dame - Again, adding some depth might be a good idea here. Considering all the injuries we had on the Offensive Line last year, drafting a 'project' here might be a good option. Molinaro might already be gone here, though. Other option: Rob Droege, OT, Missouri. Let me know what you guys think.

Obviously if we end up drafting OT Robert Gallery with our first pick we would very likely not draft two more OT's in rounds 5 and 7. Same goes for some other positions such as Safety (e.g Sean Taylor in round 1).

I hope that I'm wrong, but I have a feeling that San Diego is going to take Fitz if they can acquire Brunell, and if they can't they may trade away the first rounder and whoever gets their pick will take Fitz.
What do you fellas think? I really want to see this guy in a Raider uniform |

Round 1 - QB Eli Manning (Ole Miss, 6-4, 221)
Round 2 - DT Igor Olshanky (Oregon, 6-5, 315) Round 3 - DT Isaac Sopoaga (Hawaii, 6-1, 317) Round 4 - FS Madieu Williams(Maryland, 6-1, 191) or Will Allen (Ohio State,6-1,190) Round 5 - RB/FB Ran Carthon (Florida, 5-11,224) Round 6 -OL Mark Wilson (California 6'6" 295) Round 7 - WR P.K Sam (FSU, 6-3, 210) or Jason Geathers (UM, 6-3,210) or James Terry (Kansas State, 6-5,180) nice balance of both Offense and Defense i think.
