I want Manning as well (definitely my first choice) but if the Chargers do take him, or trade down with someone else who takes Manning than either Fitzgerald or Sean Taylor would be my choice. I too am not sold on Rothlisberger at all.

For some reason Bleed keeps saying Al doesnt want a rook QB from the State of the Raiders. But i dont remember hearing that at all. Al said hes not sure, and there are alot of different scenarios. Al said it wouldnt be fair to the QBs if he said wut he plans on doing without conslutng with them first, so i guess we wont know if al would take a QB or not.
Liebo, i know your the "draft expert" but NO WAY udeze at number 2, Sean Taylor even Big Ben, Gallery all would be a better #2. Udeze is awesome, but a #2??

Udeze, I think, is the perfect "Annual Raiders Surprise Pick". Think about it...we're in desperate need of a pass rush, he's a local guy from USC and we all know Al loves to draft players out of Southern Cal and the guy is still a Junior. He's the best DE in this draft as far as I'm concerned. It would make a lot of sense to me as long as he does great at the Combine. Otherwise, drafting him at #2 would be a bit too high.
My top 5 players to pick at #2 overall are currently: 1 Larry Fitzgerald, WR, Pittsburgh 2 Sean Taylor, FS, Miami 3 Kenechi Udeze, DE, USC 4 Robert Gallery, OT, Iowa 5 Tommie Harris, DT, Oklahoma Eli Manning is not on there since I'm pretty much sure he'll go #1 overall and I too, have my doubts about Ben Roethlisberger. He's a tremendous prospect with one stellar season in college, but he could be the next Ryan Leaf for all we know. Also, I kept both QB's off of the list since I strongly believe that we don't need to draft a QB that high. We still have an unproven QB in Tuiasosopo (a guy we did draft in the second round in 2001) and I think it's very likely that either Gannon will be back or we sign a veteran QB in Free Agency (Brunell, Warner, Feely to name a few). |

first of all ive been watching big ben since high school. he played only one year at qb in high school( his senoir year). for x factor to say one stellar season in college, you had better check his stas for his college career. you will be in for a surprise hes been tearing it up since his soph year. redshirted in freshman year. if it was me he is welll worth the #2 pick. like i said take a look at his college stats and also remember he has only played qb since his senoir in high school.

diablo, I tried telling X about Roth but he must not read my post. He has 3 straight 3,000 yard seasons. like 75 Td and a 63 % completion percentage. it's just the fact that ESPN just now decided to give this kid some credit this year. especially after betting some big ten teams.

THE RESPONSE I GOT
i e-mail mr.lombardi at raiders HQs and asked jokingly which way the raiders might go in the the draft?and his response was"we don't give out that type of information, but i will say this, the pool of good WR is a lot larger than the pool of good QBs".
so read what you want, but it does not sound like we are going for a WR with our first pick. plus i believe that if FITZ is delared eleigible, don't be surprised if the chargers grab him. |
