The draft plan

I think I have an idea for our first 3 picks. I think that we should draft Troy Palomula, because we need more help at safety than center, because I believe that the Raiders will welcome back Barret, because remember, the quotes were said before they realized his ilness. The next is Willis McGahee. We will nurse him back to health and he will be ready when Garner retires. Then, in the 2nd round we should draft a WR. I am thinking whether to get Kelly Washington or Teyo Johnson. I think maybe Teyo Johnson, because 2 risks in the 1st two rounds seems risky to me. Tell me what you think.

I have a different plan:

1. DE -- Best DE you can get, including trading up.
2. OL -- Jeff Faine, C, I don't have 100% faith in Barrett coming back and Faine can play both G spots as well. We don't know if Mo will be back either and Faine could shore up either spot if needed.
3. DL/S/WR -- I prefer them in this order of positions.

We couldn't count on Robbins in the Superbowl, so whether he's to blame or not how can we count on him now? I don't agree with everyone that we need a safety now, so I would personally try to get a Ken Hamlin in round 2 or go with a DE/DT. Even WR if the right guy was there, Tyrone Callico, etc.

How could you not have one DE on your list? I'm starting to think we should draft two. We lost both our starters from last year, Bryant(injury) and Upshaw(skins). Let's see what we have left.

1. Armstrong: old, injured, and a situational player at best.
2. Grant: young, fast, a little undersized, showed glimpses last year, our best hope, but not proven.
3. KColeman: strong guy, history of injuries in college, almost no playing time last year, big ? mark
4. Cooper: I can think of about 3 plays he made last year, and 100 he didn't, another ? mark with time running out. He's listed as a DT, but he equally sucks at both. I like his number though.

Am I missing anyone? This group looks like a big pile of elephant **** to me. Yes, I've decided, we should draft 2 DE's...one first rounder and one third or fourth rounder.

sevilla is on a distinguished road
I'll go along with DE 1st, then Faine.

I then see us trading up to get McGahee in the second. I think the Pats would really like him, but won't have the guts to gamble in the 1st round, but try and get him in the second.

After that, S and LB. Think this Woodson and Romos last season.

I don't think they go WR. Either TB or JR will still be, if not both, around in 2004. I think they will address WR early in that years draft, after which time they will be able to assess progress, or otherwise, of Knight, Montgomerie and Whitted.

And if MaGahee works out & Tui is at QB, I see a change to a more ground dominated O, with most of the passes going to JP and DJ.

Probably totally wrong, usually am.

I'm not crazy about either of these guys. Washington could be a great receiver but he needs to change his attitude and his neck injury is enough to scare me away. Johnson's size intrigues me but I think he's too big and slow to make it as a wr. The cat is nearly 250 lbs. If he makes it in the NFL, he most likely will be utilized as a TE. Callico should be there in the second for us if we decide to go after him. I like his upside a lot more than either of the other two.
