I was listening to MEL KIPER...
this guy said he sees the Raiders taking some OL from hawaii, Wayne Hunter or some **** in the 1st round. "One of the best interviews in the whole draft"
and with the other pick
Kyle Boller or Chris Simms... he said Tui was Grudens guy and that a QB is a possiblity.
I dont think this dick head knows whats he's talking about!
the audio is on ESPN.com

Kiper was right last year......The only one he really missed in the 1st was the Bengals pick. After that he knew we were moving up to get Buchanon.....
But I have heard of this guy Hunter - 6'6" 310 OT and he played in pro-style O. You know how Al loves OT's. Maybe he saw how Sims got beat by Rice and Lincoln get beat and said we cannot have any more of that!!! But how much of Sims getting beat was due to his turf toe?
Hard to argue taking a QB for the long term and either Boller or Simms will be available...But I am not for the long term. To win now we need a stud DT and DE.
Although I want a DT and DE, there is high probability that there will be no value left at those two positions by the time we draft....

Sounds about right, the Raiders either have to get a FA or someone on the roster is going to have to step it up and and play at a higher level.Who knows ! Maybe some of our younger players with another year under their belt will start to shine, battle scars only make for a better player. The draft is thin when you're picking last and looking for a player you can plug in right away is very difficult.

no way we take an o-tackle in the first....Sims is still young and can get quicker feet, and we're grooming Walker to take over for Kennedy when he retires....we're set at tackle....the tackle that we need is on the other side of the line. I really like Jonathan Sullivan from UGA....he's a projected mid-first round pick, and who ever can get him there is getting a steal I believe....

Uhhhh how will he get quicker feet???? I think he can improve his technique....But the feet he has now are the feet he is going to have.........
Someone mentioned that Sims could play inside if need be. Also in his defense I think the turf toe hurt him last year. But if we do go OT in rd1 I think that it is a clear signal about his condition/ability.

Getting quicker feet can be accomplished.....jumping rope (as fruity as it may seem) is a great way to get quicker feet...he has great technique as it is, just needs to get out of the blocks "quicker" when he faces speed rushers....you do make a point that if they do draft a tackle in the high rounds, then they have exhausted all efforts to get him quicker....the problem is, I don't know how many linemen out there jump rope.

I don't think Boller will be available - that kid is a stud. He looked great in the Sr bowl/shrine game (whatever it was I was watching) and had a tremendous workout running at the combine. He was faster than all QB's, RB's and most WR's and to boot the kid has a cannon of an arm - although he didn't throw at the combine.
I like him alot better than Leftwich and just as much as Palmer.

I do as well. I still think he'll drop to us much like Ramsey dropped for the Skins' last year, if we want him. Eventhough I don't feel we are in any need of a QB, you can NEVER have too many. Lets' say Tui is what we all think/hope/want him to be and Boller is as well, (for argument's sake say the Raiders draft him), Then you have depth or trade bait for more than just a 1st round pick, higher than 31. Just a thought. If we can get immediate help as well as future help with a player at that spot, say a DE, S or something, then I'd rather go that route. I just think that getting a potential stud QB at the 31st pick isn't necessarily a bad decision.

Only an ass clown would bring another high round qb to upset future cap and chemistry when TUIS has waited his turn. Al drafts heavy on O line, there are several players overrated I see slipping, best Tackle out there is Kwame Harris of STanford, the Utah guy is a SIms made over, big but short arms and quick feet almost a guard. The Hawaii guy slips would be great round 2 pick if we have already secured what we wanted in first 2 picks at db and dl, or if my projected two the Midd Tenn Wr Callico is gone already. Think we get a OL round 3 or 4, a guy to work up thru Cally's system with time while Frank finishes out contract or Stinch moves it up a notch. Think round 7 would be best qb possiblity, fast guy who slips but has skill to play other spots like Curry was last season.Or perhaps smart guy with football background who isnt great athletically (Dorsey or the over-reated Simms) to be a Gannon-clone of overachiever who studie game and demands most of himself, for that matterCcrouch wanted to be qb and left Rams and is free and is proabaly next to notihng for cap. We take castoffs , wouldnt put it past Al to try so again in similar fashion.

Simms wont be around then, not a snow ball chance in hell. This guy is going to be a high 2 no doubt about it. Take it to the bank!
And he isnt a overachiever or would never be a overchiever, hes too talented. He's been a under achiever and may be that!
Dorsey = Gino Torreta(ex-cane QB)

He might, but he wont be around when we pick #2. AL may take him w/ a 1st rounder. Al's known to take some players high(Langston Walker last year, who is going to be our future LT/Pro-bowler)

If we draftt Boller with a one, he wont get high draft $$$$ and having too many Qb's isnt a problem, but a luxury and a good chip to have
