McGahee may wait until 2004

According to Len Pasquarelli of ESPN.com, there is some talk among some teams that if University of Miami RB Willis McGahee (knee) isn't happy with the round in which he is taken in next month's NFL Draft, he will simply refuse to sign a contract. He will then spend a full year rehabilitating from his devastating knee injury suffered in the Fiesta Bowl, and go back into the 2004 draft.

I Think He's Nuts

It would do him absolutely no good to go back to Miami save for getting his degree. He's got an insurance policy that basically sets him up for life if he isn't able to play in the NFL. Even as a late first or early second rounder, he's going to get some decent money. I'd want to be absolutely sure that we don't use up our pick on him if he has no intention of signing a contract.
