RR, i just can't get Eric Allen's comment out of my mind. "That the transition from Jon to Bill was not a smooth one." I feel he should know. I mean this is 7 miles past Humpty Dumpty, man.

I'm not sure what you are implying Bleed.
I took the Gru stab in the back, as motivation for the teams success last year, this year there is no motivation and Callahan is left with a team that can't or wont play well for him.

I think you might be right. I can't see Rice or Brown coming back this year just to try and run Cally out. But on the other hand, now that the team has just fallen completely apart, you have to wonder if that might be their thinking. You know, I go back to that game where Wheatley hugged Cally, and the look that Cally gave Wheat. To me, it kind of looked like Cally was pissed. Like he thought, "Why are you touching me?" It just seems like he's had a weird coach to player relationship. |

Bill seems kind of aloof for that stuff, not a rah-rah guy. You would rather have gruden hugs you and backstab ? Enough of these cushy hug-you-and bend -you over types who wear their hearts on a sleeve. This is man's sport, if you do not play that way, stick to playing college ball for free because you love the sport and its emotion...

Losing is one thing. Losing like idiots is another. And hey, if any Raiders are reading this, I've been a Raiders fan for 20-some years and you know what, you're playing stupid football! I'm sure you're all nice guys and college-educated, etc., etc., but get over yourselves. You're having a rotten year. You're making dumb mistakes. You're failing in the clutch. You're embarrassing yourselves on the field. Now quit whining about the coach not holding your mother-f'ing hand and kissing your mother-f'ing ass and play like you've actually put on a jersey and helmet before September! Thin-skinned bunch of freakin' crybabies. Oops. Sorry. Guess I got a little carried away.

Yo Mr. Murder, There is plenty of emotion in profootball right now, take Little Dickie in KC, and the biggest surprise to me is The Tuna. Giving luv to his QB after a play, Jim Mora definitely was, and of course our ex. Talk about the Greatest Show on Turf!

Hmmmm, interesting question...well, I'm getting on my soap box and putting in my 2 cents worth.....Now that I have had time to read the article in its entirety and to ponder on the statements, I would have to say that Callyhead didn't mean it the way it came out. "Dumbest team in America, playing the game" and I emphasis 'playing the game' I've been a Raider fan since the days of George Blanda, Darryl Lamonica, Lyle A, Howie L, etc. It's all I know. I was hoping that I would never live to see another Joe Bungle....errrr, I mean Bugle year (4-12), but it looks like we are headed that way now. I am a realist and I know that on Sunday the guys won't go out there to play for Cally, they all lost respect for him on Sunday night, but I'm hoping the team will play for their own respectability and the respect of the RAIDER organization. I also feel that AD needs to look inside himself and see that it is time for CHANGE. If we are to have any chance of getting back to the BIG DANCE next year (2004), AD needs to change and let go of the reins. Anyway, off my now....Just my 2 cents from a Die-Hard RAIDER fan

Sure it's a man's sport, but at least the ****er could smile or show some emotion for team morale. IMO, the day these guys, both coaches and players, stop showing any emotion and excitement for the game, is the day the NFL dies. |
