As disturbing as this story is...what's just as disturbing is that nobody stepped in to help these people who were getting beaten

You've heard too many accounts of this game being the best game that some have ever attended and the majority of fans had a great time in the parking lot. I know I did - and I brought my daughter with me to tailgate. Not sure who it was on this thread who said that these were fans that probably didn't even attend the game - but for those of us who can only show our support by tailgating and just can't stand to stay away from the Raider Nation during a home game - I'm one of them - I can't always afford tix as a single mother, but I make damn sure I'm at the tailgate.. IMHO... to keep those fans away from the HOT would be an injustice - especially knowing the last 45 out of 63 games have been blacked out locally...

I plan on coning there next season with my son and possibly with my wife and daughter. This is an unfortunate incident and hopefully the morons that did this will not go unpunished. However it is an isolated incident and the Raider Nation should not be judged by the actions of a few morons. The last time I was in Oakland in 1999 I was treated great by all the fans there. Theres no mention if the people that got beat up were fans of the other team but that shouldn't constitute a beating. Then you wonder why people advocate no selling of beer at sporting evevnts.

We were in Oakland in September, and I felt NO fear. Don't miss out on an experience of a Raider home game, just because of an home game because of an assholes. Stuff like this happens everywhere, unfortunately - it just seems to get more publicity when its the Silver and Black.

These trouble causers were not buying beers in the stadium, they were outside causing trouble. Good fans (a couple no less) deserve better treatment. There is no need to stop their enjoyment of beverage (and tax and tips to boot). Tipping over toilet stalls?
Those are not Raider fans, they do not deserve Silver and Black. Give them Trustee orange instead... ****heads like that get good fans heckled and in trouble... no doubt we'll have a coleman ref crew this week as well . Make examples of them, not us.

When things like this happen, part of the punishment should be a ban at all of the professional sporting events in that town. The father/son who jumped on the field in Chicago and beat up KC's 1st base coach are still allowed in the park. If people know that they can't go to the games after acting like dimwits maybe they will think twice about their actions. Send these guys to the big house and make a ban on Raiders games part of their parole/probation.

Damn man thats some f'd up ****. I have been going to games since the Raiders returned to Oakland and have never had any problems like that. I have been close to being in altercations but so far nothing has happened. During the Jets game there was a guy smoking in the section next to mine (only a few seats away). Actually he was near my buddy w/ my seats in the middle of the same row. There were a few seats open in front of my buddy so I moved over by him and he told me about this guy getting an attitude when he asked him not to smoke. But the guy wasnt smoking so I didnt think much of it. Then a little while later the guy lights up again so I told him to put it out and he got pretty damn mad. He asked me if I had a problem so I told him "yea, you smoking is a problem". He didnt do **** but put it out and act pissed (he was obviously drunk as well). Later he got up to go out to the smoking section and pointed at me and my friend to say "you have a problem". I smiled, sat back in my seat and told him "yes I do. You smoking is a problem for me". He walked away and we didnt have any problems after that. But its assholes like that, and even more so the ones who beat up that couple that make things difficult for the honest fun loving fans.
