D Russ almost a Buc
Tampa B sportstalk said that Pete Prisco reporting on that Gruden wanted Druss really bad against Rich Mckay's wishes. When Gruden threatened to go to the Glasers, Mckay said he would go public vehemently opposing the signing of Druss. Chuckie backed down.
Trouble in TB? Mckay reportedly interested in the Falcons GM position next season. Buc fans are really down on Gruden.

Hold Up! I usually don't wish anybody ill wishes but I hope Chuckie falls flat on his face. When he went to TB everybody said he was going to instill the disciplone that would make that franchise a dynasty. Now after last year they don't make the playoffs, You gotta love it!!!!!

You guys are getting excited over nothing. The media "creates" more than it "reports". Your Reverand Al got you guys into this mess and he is the one responsible for getting you out.....which he eventually will. Your obsession with Gruden and the Bucs keeps us in stitches. It really is funny. The players and fans have lost their focus.
Fortunately for the fans Reverand Al won't lose his focus. He definitely understands the business and wants to continue to be a winner and make money. |

Where the Glazers made their mistake was not making Jon GM, too. Yo zbuc, so glad you and your friends have sense of humor, your going to need it the weeks and seasons to come.

Let's face it .We only hate Gruden because he wanted out.If he was still here we'd all be licki'n his nuts.Davis did the best thing he could by trading him.Now we have to woryy about the Raiders not the Bucs. They can come in last place this year it doesn't matter.Last year is what counted.

As much as you want Jon to fail here he has already brought us a Super Bowl and will be successful for many more years as long as the Glazers are the owners. I have perused this board often over the last two years am well aware of your hatred for him. It's a waste of energy on your part but that is your problem. Next year under new leadership and if Al has used his extra draft selections wisely I look for the Raiders to become a force again. |

zbuc, This a Raider forum! The Raider Faithfull, if you will have been torned apart on the subject of Jon Gruden. This little putz has had a lasting affect on the Raiders thats still going on. AND THATS WHAT I DON'T LIKE. Am i over the moon when he looses a game? You bet your sweet as i am. As i've said in other posts, i never bought anything he was selling and he looks real cute in Buc colors. I'll leave you with this...I'm happy you got him, and i'm glad we don't. Now if he can just get his QB Gannon and the rest of his coaching staff out of Oakland, we can get back to Raider football. Thanks Jon, I luv you man.

ZBUC, your points are well taken and accurate... The reason the Bucs won't be able to repeat has nothing to do with the sidelines, it's on the front office for being content with the status quo and not doing anything to address a weakness that was exposed this year in the Bucs D: the ability to stop the run... (for what it's worth I think Gruden has done an incredible job for the second consecutive year in taking below average offensive talent and creating an above average offensive unit)
Gruden is hands down one of the best coaches in the league. Anybody that disagrees with that on this board is pure HOMER and not over the fact that Gruden wanted out of Oakland just as much as AD wanted to get rid of him... In my opinion, it's time for McKay to hit the road. Saw the exact same thing with Phil Jackson and Jerry West, the premier coach and GM in basketball, respectively... 1 organization is not big enough for both of them, just as it wasn't big enough for both AD and Gruden, just as it isn't big enough for Gruden and McKay... Keeping Gruden over McKay makes sense for 1 simple reason... players want to play for Gruden, just as players want to play for AD, but I'm not sure there are any players that want to play for McKay... |
