It was the weekend of the NCAA Tournament not last off-season, but the one prior. Me and a female friend of mine had been out all night and it was around 6AM, so we decided to go to the Waffle House. We walk in and there are 4 guys sitting down, they start chi-chatting with us, and one happen to have on a 49ers jersey. So I tell him, “I know you are not wearing the bull**** ass 49er jersey”. Everyone in the Waffle House got quiet, so I told him “I’m just messing with you, I’m from Cali and a huge Raider fan” So, they continue to chit chatting with us, laughing and chillin’ while we wait for our food. Well one of the guys on the end is HELLA MAD. So he says “That’s why you didn’t go to the Super Bowl”
My Reply: “We made it further than you guys”
Him: “Well we have more rings”
Me: “You are talking about 14 years ago……we are talking about this season, and if you check the record book we are 1 of the winningest teams in the NFL”
Him: “Yeah well only YOU would know that”
Me: “I know we beat you guys in football & basketball(bay to bay tournament)….but it’s all good…..you don’t have to be mad at me about it”
Mind you I never really looked at the guy I was arguing with since he was on the other side of me with his hat pulled down to his nose. I walk back over to pick up my food and his boy grabs my arm and was like “You know why he is mad right?” I said “NO”. He said “you are talking about his jersey”. I was like “What?” He said
“That’s Terrell Owens” I walk back over to the table and look at him and started laughing. I asked him if he was still mad at me. And he said no, so I asked him to take a picture with me (I keep my handy little camera in the car at all times). And he did!
And to make matters worse, my friend is a DJ and a few weeks later we were at the Terrence Mathis Celebrity BBall game and in front of everyone he said
"HEY TO YOU KNOW THAT OAKLAND FAN YOU GOT INTO WITH AT THE WAFFLE HOUSE? SHE TOLD ME TO TELL YOU HI"
