Making noise in the NY papers today

[color=green:5fcfa6ea8d]http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/fo...7p-47214c.html[/color:5fcfa6ea8d]

Well if the two teams aren't fired up by now then they really need to look for new jobs. However, since there are a number of people on both sides in this forum who seem to set great store by this quote or that quote allegedly said by some player on the other team and how THAT will be an extra motivating factor for their boys come Sunday....

The above link seem to be the latest bulleting board quote (actually a stop-practice-and-read-it-to-the-special-teams-quote). So I thought I would post it here in case it isn't making any noise on the west coast.

Personally I think anyone should say whatever they want about the other teams players, their mothers, their sexual preferences or whatever.

Will the wait never end?

One thought for both sides, you should be professional enough to be as fired up as you can be, period. The fact that it's a playoff game should be all that's needed for motivation. Trash talking from both sides is all it is, just talk. Morton's telling everyone he wasn't going to trash talk but here he is in the paper. Same as everyone else.

What is so great about this is that a big deal is made of every quote. Every year in the second round of the playoffs through the Superbowl it's a contest to see who can put the other team off their game by saying this or that. The teams may change, the players may change and the words they use may change, but the smack talk is always there.

I was wondering about that quote myself especially coming from Jennings. He is certainly not one of the marquee players. Seabass and Lechler will play a big part in limiting the explosiveness of the Jets special teams. Janikowski led the league in touchbacks and he really needs to do get that ball back for touchbacks. Same thing with Lechler, forget trying to land the ball inside the 5 or 10 yard line. He should be aiming for the sidelines or touchbacks every time he punts. I would give the Jets the ball at the 20 every time rather than taking chances with Moss.

It is raining and Jano will be skipping the ball through the mud. It is going to be a hard hitting game no matter what. The only thing about trash talking is one team is going to eat their words and we all know who that will be. THE YETS.

I'm not nervous I'm anxious. I'm not playing a single down so I have no reason to be nervous. Plus I have the utmost confidense in the Raiders. They are in this position for a reason they were the best team in the AFC this year, they won 7 of the last eight most in dominating fashion. They didn't lose to a team they should have clearly beat (the Cards) while the Jets did let down to the Bears on the road. They showed down the stretch that they can run also. The faced some of the tougest and best backs in the NFL going down the stretch and ended up 3rd overall in run D. (Curtis Martin was one of those backs). And with all the hype the Yets are getting the preasure will be more on them to try and live up to it. It may take just one turn over by Chad to get him thinking I'm not bullet proof after all. Either way let's hope for a good game. Sometimes the games that are hyped th most end up being the biggest disappointment with one team clearly dominating instead of a back and forth game.
