Rule Changes, Wrong again!....

The refs blew a pass interf call and an illegal player down field call on the bouched FG attempt. The FG mess up was the fault of the NY Giants, not knowing to down the ball, so they could get another try. Whats new? This is just one more screw up by the refs in the NFL. The 'changes' will solve nothing and help know one. Now, there is a growing wonderment in the Nation about what sort of 'officating' we might see in Sunday's game. My take! It will be business as usual. They will see that at least one team from olde NY will get a step closer to the SB....B ****ing S!~ GO RAIDERS!

There is one major thing to remember about that Giants game. Yes the call was blown but,

#1 - The refs didn't blow a 24-point lead.
#2 - The refs didn't fail to modify the game plan when it didn't work.
#3 - The refs didn't botch two snaps on FG attempts.

This is similar to the 'Snow Job' in some respects except the Raiders didn't blow it as bad, the game was close the entire way. The Raiders had opportunities to win that game regardless of the Tuck, but nothing even close to the situation the Giants handed over to the 49ers.

Ok...

Just for kicks, say we are both right in what we've said in our posts. Q? has got to be, why the sudden, its the end of the league as we know it rule changes? Because these changes don't do a damn thing!  Why is that, Paul?

[quote:d62232ac48]The FG mess up was the fault of the NY Giants, not knowing to down the ball, so they could get another try.[/quote:d62232ac48]

Actually according to the most updated interpretation of the NFL rule book, a player must be directly under center before downing the ball. If the Giants had downed the ball, it would have been ruled intentional grounding since the place holder was not directly under center.

[quote:d62232ac48]why the sudden, its the end of the league as we know it rule changes?[/quote:d62232ac48]

Exactly, officiating mistakes and punishment of officiating crews has always been kept under the table. I say Tagliabitch should be fined for conduct detrimental to the league.
