January 8, 2003[/b:8694ac0b07]
Pro Bowl safety Rod Woodson enjoyed a record-setting season in 2002.
As the Raiders claimed their third straight AFC Western Division title, earned a first round bye and clinched homefield advantage, several team and NFL records fell along the way. QB Rich Gannon, WR Jerry Rice, S Rod Woodson, WR Tim Brown and their teammates tied or set several standards in many different categories during the 2002 season.

I like rice - always have and this was the most under appreciated and respected record of the year -- emmitt broke the rusing record and it was the biggest thing -- i think this record was more impressive in my mind. I think it was ashame it didn't get more attention.
Rice is as classy as they come and Payton was the best ever.

Ali was the greatest
I gotta agree on the Emmit deal, he's got the # 's. But given the fact that Payton was with a **** team, ( he was at the end of his career when he got his ring in 86).Had Sweetness or Sanders for that matter been on a team like the "Boys in their prime, their record would still be standing. Don't get me wrong Smith was an excellent Rb , but never the best. Rice on the other hand is just on another planet when it comes to who is the greatest WR ever, I just hope the Raiders land the SOB who breaks JR's records

Bo Knows...
I still say that if Bo could have stayed healthy he would have rewritten the NFL record book and not only gone down as the best football player in history, but the greatest athlete in history.
- Averaging 6.8 yards per carry over an entire season is unheard of.
- Tim Brown even admitted that Bo was the fastest human he ever saw run, and that says a lot considering Brown played with Olympic Gold Medalist Willie Gault.
- And Bo was supposed to be a power back.
- I still jump out of my seat watching replays of him 15 years after the fact.

The one run I remember most about Bo was watching him run right over and through The Bozz. The Bozz had been talking so much smack for that game it was funny to watch him get flattened by Bo.

That Seattle game was unreal, but my all time favorite game was the Monday Night game against the Lions where Bo went run for run with Barry Sanders. It seemed like every person who saw the game agreed that Bo looked more explosive than Barry.

Hey 85 -- I agree with you. Something about those three men. You can only be glad we have been able to watch them weave their magic. What great players and great people.
