Good article, it's about time focus was placed on officiating effectively. Glad to see the changes will be immediate.

The officiating has been particularly terrible over the past two seasons. The refs are getting older and it's time for new blood. The other thing is, they NFL has really been trying to protect its players, especially QB's and WR's lately. Thus, much emphasis has been placed on all these rules about how you can hit people. No leaving your feet, no hitting with your helmet (I still remember my high school coach yelling, 'put a helmet on that guy!'), you have to count your steps before contact... just in case, etc., etc., etc. It's as if they league needs to hire lawyers now because you have to memorize a book the size of world almanac and be a ****ing genius to know what call to make. I'm not saying that the refs haven't ****ed up, because BELIEVE ME I know they have as does most everyone on this site, but how much nit picking can you do until you need a computer or a robot to ref the games?

(Sorry about the rant, but this is getting out of hand. The refs shouldn't be deciding so many games.)

Advantage... Jets. Tag knows well enough about the Raiders' cheating tactics. He wanted to take care of this before sunday's game especially for that reason. Cheating won't help you guys sunday... maybe a terrorist act to stop the game would. Anyone feel like strapping themselves to dynomite?

I'm just glad to see the NFL openly admit there was a mistake. At least they didn't try to cover up a bad call like the Foxboro Farce.

The only thing you're doing is regurgitating what Evans said. And the only reason he said that was because he couldn't get to Gannon. If they were really cheating, the refs would have called it. He's just hoping to get the refs to call a bogus holding call or two. He's nothing but a big whiner as is Szott.

Better save those sticks for yourself for after the game. You can strap them you know where...

When it comes to penalties everyone has the advantage on Oakland. This isn't new. As far as cheating, gimme a frickin' break bonehead. The Jets are apparently infallable in your eyes so there's no reasoning with a homer like you.

As much as I hate Da Raiders - I'd hate to see either team win the game by a blown call - actually, I'd hate to see the Raiders win by a blown call
