Jet bandwagon filling up fast
If i listened to everything i hear, we shouldnt even show up Sunday. They;re the hottest team in the playoffs, no one wants to play them, best qb in the league right now and so on..... The way the media is carrying on, maybe we should give them the Lombardi right now 8)Nah, lets see them earn it. I like our chances. Is it Sunday yet?????? GO RAIDERS!!!!

Very true HAyes, you know whats funny, raiderfans.net was affliated with the f2fa.com which the jets fan site (theganggreen.com) is also affiated with. Back when we played on Dec. 2, we had a few jet fans come by and register but not that many. This time we probably picked up 10 more members than last time. Since the Giants lost, now they all switch sides and become Jets fans. I hate bandwagoners!

I'm with you hayes --being a jets fan it's nice to get the press after the crap we laid down through week 7 -- but writers and analysts know nothing--it comes down to those 2 teams on the real grass for 3 hours!
I can't wait -- this will be a great game!
I was here for the first game -- been a fan since i was 7 - going on 21 years now

if you are a fan root for your team if your team is out admire those remaining!

Pardon the interuption, fellas, but as one who has lived on both coasts, I can honestly say that the Jets have very few bandwagon fans. Who would root for such a team?
:o
Back in the day when I would cruise Christopher street, actually most of the boys I met were Raider fans. Mean, hairy fairies. I mean, those boys were gorgeous. Go Raidah's! :o

While I am a new user of this Raider board, my passion for this NY Jet team has gotten me virtually banned from TheGangGreen.Com because I can not tolerate some of those guys acceptance of losing. The NY Jets have done nothing for 34 years except deliver a mediocre product, and be the LA Clippers of the NFL and I have been very outspoken while things were going badly for us in the first half of this season. Go easy on us Jet fans. Most of us, myself included, were too young to appreciate 1968 and we haven't won **** since.
I agree that we should slow down annointing this Jet team as the greatest thing since the STL Rams, but you have to admit, they look virtually unstoppable.
Let me put it to you another way, I am 40 years old and have been a fan since around 1970, I have never sen a NY Jet team play like this one has for 3 weeks in a row. The Chicago game nonwithstanding, they have been as good as or better than any team in the NFL since the 8th game.
Come on, tell me you aren't just a wee a bit nervous that the mighty silver & black could get schooled at home?

I will admit that the Jets do look really good this year. Also, I don't think they were ever as bad as the Clippers.
As far as bandwagon goes. There are a couple of Pats fans at my work and they are all Jets fans now....WHAT? Is it just me or does that make no sense. I would never root for a division rival to win the conference. If a division rival makes it to the Super Bowl then I turn into an AFC fan but that is the extent of my bandwagonism.

Wagons ho
I live in New england and today I stopped by my building materials supplier and lo and behold all those bastards that were yaking about how great the Pat's were, are all rooting for the Jets, it's enough to make ya puke.
My team goes down, I'm all done for the year.
Here's the good part of the story, there is one old guy who works there, every time I have saw him he's had on a jets hat, the guy is a diehard, he tells the Pat's fans " screw who needs you " then him and me talk some playoff football. All they are is a bunch of bandwagon, Raider hating assholes.

I hear ya Rhode. I have one team, the same team since 1980, The Oakland Raiders! Now, I do like to root for certain players like Farve and I like that Shockey kid, but I only root for one team.

Jet4ever, I admire your loyalty and you have every right to be passionate about your Jets. I grew up in NY and had to endure alot of bad Jet football before the days of cable tv. Yes your team is playing well and will provide a stiff test for the Raiders but you have only won ONE playoff game vs a mediocre Indy team. Most people lose sight of the fact that we won 7 out of our last 8 games and waxed all three of our divisional rivalries to close out the season. Don't underestimate this group of aging veterans, many of whom have been in this type of situation before and who have not been schooled by any team this year.

Good take
NYJET4Ever good take. I've got respect for somebody who is not willing to accept losing, and even call his team out when necessary.
But to be absolutely honest with you, I am not at all nervous about playing the Jets. I really don't think the Jets match up well with the Raiders. Rich Gannon and our offensive line played one of their worst games during our regular season match up with you guys and we still won pretty convincingly. I don't think you guys can run the ball on us, but you should have some success through the air if Pennington doesn't try to go deep. Special teams should help you guys win the field position battle but can you guys really stay with a team coming off a bye week for 60 minutes?
The only team that really concerned me was the Dolphins simply because they had the defensive backs to stop our WRs and their best pass rusher lined up against our worst offensive lineman. The Jets secondary doesn't hold a candle to Miami's and your best pass rusher is lined up against our best offensive lineman.
I think the game will be close at the half, but I expect the Raiders to put it away in the second half like they did on Monday night.
