can't go by year stats -- take away the jets first 5 games and they are much diffeent
over the last 10 games we are 2nd in points allowed and 3rd against the run, on offense we are scoring over 26 a game -- probale more with the last 2 weeks.
how a team played in september has no bearing on January -- ask the dolphins.

Yeah and take away the games we lost during our 4 game slide and we would be #1 in every category.... We finished the season 7-1

Very true 85. Anyone can make the numbers do whatever they want. Your boys have been on a roll lately, and chub is a very good, probably soon to be great QB. But at this point the Raiders are on a mission, and aside from a few good offensive weapons, I don't think your boys have the horses to run with the Raiders. We'll see next weekend. Hoping for a great game and a convincing Raider victory.

Yeah stats are meaningless right now. One loss and you're done. I believe the Jets are a pretty loose and confident bunch right now and the Raiders really are the team with all the pressure and expectations on them.
I think the HF advantage will be huge as many of the Jet players have not been this deep into the playoffs before. Let's see how Chad responds in front of a hostile crowd and a much improved Raider defense. While the Jets are this year's cinderella story, the Raiders are on a mission. Should be a great game.

The Raiders have been on a mission the last 3 seasons, and blew it in the playoffs each time... Blow #4 comes sunday.

Tommy I'm sure you're an expert when it comes to blowing. :P
It's obvious you can't add either, we weren't in the playoffs three years ago which is something you Jet fans are all too familiar with. Your team has won one playoff game and suddenly they're the Steel Curtain.

Yeah hammer the Colts and all of a sudden everybody sees the Jets as the '85 Bears.
Let the media keep feeding the Jet hype machine and keep slobbering on that New York dick like they always do, I guess it makes them feel special.
We'll see how they handle themselves against a team that isn't junior varsity like the Colts.
Weren't they supposed to have a field day against our banged up secondary in that last MNF game? Wasn't Curtis Martin going to run roughshod on our "old men" on defense?
Let them keep thinking whatever the media keeps feeding them, we'll stick to reality on our home field.

Hopefully we'll see that again. Anyway, this should be a high-scoring game. The Jets scored 42 and 41 points the last 2 weeks and didn't even try to scoree in the 4th. (We did though)
The Raiders were very good at the end of the year, but the week off may hurt them. Gannon might be off. And there is no Tim Brown 1000 reception to stop the momentum.

Well that was pretty close to a football take so I'll respond by saying the Raiders week off will not hurt the Raiders. The Raiders had numerous players that were banged up and needed that time to heal their bodies. The secondary while not 100% will be close enough to take care of the Jets. I'm sure that the Jets will make some plays, but I am sure that Chad Pennington will be throwing his first playoff interception this sunday (maybe his second and third too). The Raiders will stop the Jets running game with Parrella and Adams clogging the middle freeing up Harris and Barton to make Martins day really long. That added pressure will be what causes CP to make mistakes (like last time when he threw INT in last 30 seconds). On offense it is all about the Raiders offensive line. Some Jet fans mentioned Abraham introducing himself to Gannon, well Lincoln Kennedy (and Mo Collins, and Barry Sims) will have something to say about that. I'm not saying Gannon won't get sacked but I am saying that the Raiders will control the Jets defensive front for the balance of the game.

The Raiders are usually successful coming off a bye week plus since we had an early bye this year, we finally have the needed week off to rest our troops. Expect Cal and Trest to come up with a pretty solid game plan.
