I have to agree. Leaving Gannon in is risking an injury when it could easily be avoided. Put Toui in an give him some reps. What happens if Gannon does get hurt and Toui is very rusty?

I don't understand the late game pick thrown by Gannon, but I noticed after that, that Wheat got a lot of carries, which he desperatly needs to get back in the groove.

Yes , it is very nice to see him get his reps. If he stays healthy then we have our old 1-2 punch back. Punish them in the 1st half with WoWo and let Garner run all over them in the second......lol.

I was nice to see Wheatley getting some playing time, I'd like to see more Garner and Wheatley mixing it up in the back field. I agree with RaiderBon, we should put Tui in, especially when we're way ahead in games. You never know when we might need him. That reminds of the 2000 championship game against the Ravens, when Sirgusa flopped his big ass on Gannon and took him out of the game. If Hoying had some more playing time, maybe we would of had a different outcome in that game. Let the kid play!

I think the reason that we are not putting in Tui is we don't trust our defense. I get deathly afraid whenever we go into that "prevent defence". I would much rather see Gannon in for the whole game just to make sure that we can close the game out.

Gannon will play on two broken leggs before HE lets Tui in. Why? Cuz he knows what will happen, Rich will never get back in himself. With all due respect to Rich! :roll: :wink:

The reason is simple. Bill Callahan believes in attacking until the bitter end. How does putting in your backups keep you in attack mode? It doesn't. Hey, we are all excited about Tui and the prospects he provides our future, but the future is just that, the future. Today is the present and the present is Gannon ... the NFL MVP so far.

How about Callahan going for it on fourth down, 1st series of the 3rd quarter. We have got an excellent coach! Even if they hadn't got the first you've got to love that killer instinct. If Callahan had been the coach last year I KNOW that playoff game against the Patriots would have been at the Net. How many games did the Raiders blow last year with being too conservative.

Gannon is playing the best football of his career, to say that he wouldn't get his job back if Tui went in is absurd.Tui has the rest of his career to flourish. His place is standing on the sidelines watching Gannon perform surgery on opposing defenses and hoping he can be that good some day.As a dedicated professional, Gannon likes to finish what he started. I think if we were worried about injuring star players we wouldn't have C- wood returning kicks.

Couldn't agree more. Gruden's overly conservative tactics cost us several games over the 2 previous seasons. If we had a great D like he has now in Tampa, then it would make sense to be that conservative, but when you have a bend-don't-break defense, Callahan's mentality of doing everything to outscore the opponent and relying as little as possible on the defense will serve this team much better.
