I don't think I get it. Is it a conspiracy? Are you a serial killer? Are you sizing up which one of us to chainsaw?
What exactly do you mean by " the longest thread"? Is it some kind of underground movement? Are you waiting for a contact from your handlers? Is this the codeword?

Let me see your papers. What is your business inside the Nation? Have you been vetted through the proper channels? What is your designation?
